"Ragnar Kjartansson: Politics of the Obvious" opens NEXT WEEK! The Members' Preview will take place on Thursday, September 3, from 4 to 7 pm on Floors 1 and 2 of the Gundlach Building. A Voices in Contemporary Art Talk with the artist and Charles Balbach Chief Curator Cathleen Chaffee will follow in the Lipsey Auditorium at 8 pm and is open to the public. The exhibition will be open to the public on M&T FIRST FRIDAY, September 4! To pay homage to one of the artist's most famous works, "The Visitors," musicians will take over our campus in busker-style performances.

You won't want to miss our concert on September 13, 2026, 3PM at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. 1080 Main St., Buffalo, 14209. This is your chance to hear vocalist, Alex McArthur before she headlines the opening BPO Pops concert! She will be performing with legendary jazz pianist, George Caldwell in a program of jazz, blues and pop. Tickets will be available at the door - $20, adults, $5, students - cas or check ONLY.

The Friends of Vienna is pleased to announce their fiftieth season with a wonderful line-up of concerts:

Sunday September 13 – Vocalist Alex McArthur and UB pianist George Caldwell perform jazz, blues and pop. This is your chance to hear Alex before she headlines the Opening BPO Pops concert! (to be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church)

Sunday October 18 – Simon Hausner, BPO cellist, Andrew Lin, violinist and Robert Donowick, violist, with Julliard School pianist Jarod Yap in a program featuring Schubert’s Arpeggione Sonata and Faure’s Piano Quartet No. 1.

Sunday November 8 – Violinist Isabel Ong, cellist Natasha Farny, and pianist Eliran Avni, faculty members of the Fredonia School of Music present “Ladies First,’ a program of rediscovered piano trio gems by the 19th century French composer, Louise Farrenc and British composer and suffragette, Ethel Smyth along with contemporary Chicagoan composer Stacy Garrop, and a movement from a Brahms’ piano trio.

Sunday March 21 – Karen Schmid, UB Dept. of Music fortepianist with Holly Bewlay, Buffalo State University soprano. Featured are works by Beethoven and Schubert played on the fortepiano, Haydn’s ‘Arianna a Naxos’ for soprano and fortepiano, along with a selection of Haydn’s songs.

Sunday April 11 – BPO Principal Oboe, Henry Ward, BPO cellist, Amelie Fradette, BPO contrabassoonist, Natalya Rose Vrbsky, BPO violinist Mari Nihira Jones, and Abigail Rockwood, piano in works by Telemann, Boismortier, Bixet, Poulenc, and Martinu.

Sunday May 16 – BPO Assistant Concertmaster Anton Shelepov, violin with Irina Shelepov, harp.

Individual ticket prices are $20. Season tickets are just $80, a savings of more than 30% over the individual admission prices.

On Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM, at the Unity Church, 1243 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, the Friends of Vienna present: Tempus Fugit, with Michael Serio, piano; Shannon Reilly, violin; and Michael Tumiel, clarinet. Their program includes works by Berg, Menotti, Poulenc, and Boulanger. You won't want to miss this! Tickets are $20, $5 students and are available at the door. Cash or check only! Parking is always free and plentiful.

Thank you, Loren and Susan for a great concert. Our patrons had nothing but praise and I think that everyone enjoyed the eclectic choice of music. In other words, it was a great program!
