There are a lot of interesting ideas that you can find. Some of these ideas might be worth trying. You might think that if you implement one of these ideas, maybe it'll have a positive impact on your life. So, why not try it?

Sometimes we treat God's Word this way, but God's Word is more than an idea. God's Word is not something that might be true, it is true. God's Word is not just something that may work a positive thing in your life, it gives you life.

Jesus says that those who build their life on God's Word build their life on a rock solid foundation. Matthew 7:24-29 says, "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.

What types of songs do you hear at church? Are they all joyful and happy? Are they all somber and slow? Or are they a good mix?

Solomon says that there is a time for laughing and dancing and there is a time for weeping and mourning. You will not be happy and life won't be good all of the time. We live in a broken and sinful world that is often described as a "veil of tears."

There will be times when you are brokenhearted; when the song in your heart is not "Praise to the Lord the Almighty", but more like "Be Still My Soul."

The Lord is there for you! Psalm 34:18 says, "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

What types of songs do you hear at church? Are they all joyful and happy? Are they all somber and slow? Or are they a good mix? Solomon says that there is a ...

What are the three functions of God’s Law? In this devotion, we explore the biblical distinction between Law and Gospel and unpack the three uses of the Law: the curb, the mirror, and the guide.

The Law shows us God’s will, restrains outward evil, exposes our sin, and guides believers in lives of thankful service. But the Law is never meant to stand alone. The Gospel comforts us with the good news that Jesus has fulfilled the Law for us, forgiven our sins, and empowers us to live as God’s children through faith.

📖 Topics covered in this devotion:
• The difference between Law and Gospel
• The Ten Commandments and their purpose
• The Law as curb, mirror, and guide
• Why Christians still need God’s Law
• How the Gospel comforts burdened sinners
• Living in thankful response to Christ’s salvation

“Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path.” – Psalm 119:105
