Hillview United Methodist Church

Hillview United Methodist Church Hillview is a community who believes that we can transform the world through acts of love and kindness and that EVERYONE is welcome to experience love and joy.

Hillview United Methodist Church is a Reconciling Congregation, welcoming all persons into full participation in the life of the congregation regardless of age, sexual orientation, gender identity, family configuration, racial or ethnic background, economic status, or mental or physical abilities. As we journey to the reconciliation of all persons as children of God, we celebrate our human family's diversity.

We have some exciting news! Reverend Buddy will continue to serve Hillview Community for another year.🎉

But...

He will ALSO be serving New Meadows UMC.

How can he do both? Well, Hillview and New Meadows will have to share! Starting in July, he will be at Hillview 75% and New Meadows 25%. The details are still being worked out, but we're excited for this chance for collaboration!

On June 17th at 1 pm, please join us at Hillview Charge conference to vote* on this new adventure.
*only members of church council can vote, but all are welcome to attend.

From the start, John and Charles Wesley (founder of Methodism) took a different approach to Christianity. They weren't content to just read and study the Bible. They started a faith movement based on "love in action"... love for God, love for neighbors, love for creation and love for all humankind. From these ideals sprang over 150 Christian denominations.

Join us tomorrow to learn more about what it really means to be a Wesleyan and how it influence all we do and believe as Christians.

Well see you at 10:30 in person or anytime on-line at www.hillviewmethodist.org

If you're looking for an opportunity to flex your philanthropic muscles, Hillview United Women in Faith are collecting athletic shoes for our nearby community school, Morley Nelson. Morley Nelson elementary school is a public school for students pre-k through 6th grade. Many of the students come from multi lingual and/or low income families who often need basic clothing and household supplies.

Although school is out for the summer we want to plan ahead and make sure they have plenty of athletic shoes to give to any student in need! The shoe drive ends August 1st so start giving now! All sizes are needed (we'll post periodic updates though as the shoes start rolling in!)

Mahatma Ghandi said "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

How are Christians different from Christ? What does it mean to BE Christ-like?

What would our world look like if we could look into the face of our "enemies" and instead see a brother, a sister, a friend? To see their struggles and pain, hopes and joys and recognise how similar they are to our own? After all, God created us...friend and enemy alike!

On this Peace and Justice Sunday, we will continue to explore Who We are when we walk with Jesus along a path of love. Join us at 10:30 in person or online anytime at www.hillviewmethodist.org

This Sunday, continue the conversation at Delsa's Ice Cream Parlour after worship (and add in some lunch and ice cream).
