Feast of the Baptism of the Lord

Almighty ever-living God, who, when Christ had been baptized in the River Jordan and as the Holy Spirit descended upon him, solemnly declared him your beloved Son, grant that your children by adoption, reborn of water and the Holy Spirit, may always be well pleasing to you. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Nov. 27: Feast of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal

Prayer to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal for Special Graces

O Mary, conceived without sin,
Mother of mercy and channel of every grace,
I come before you with a trusting heart,
to ask not only for my own needs,
but especially for those graces that no one asks for—
the hidden gifts that you long to give
but which so many hearts forget to seek.

Mother most gentle,
you once said that many graces are lost
because no one asks for them.
Today I ask you,
for the sake of all souls,
to pour out those forgotten blessings—
graces of repentance and conversion,
of healing and strength,
of faith renewed and love rekindled.

Spread your hands over the world,
as you did in your apparition to Saint Catherine Labouré,
and let your rays of light fall
where they are most needed:
upon the lonely, the doubtful, the poor in spirit,
and upon those who do not yet know your Son.

O Mary, my Mother and my Queen,
I entrust myself entirely to your Immaculate Heart.
Obtain for me the grace to love Jesus more each day,
to trust in His mercy without fear,
and to never let your Miraculous Medal
be for me a mere ornament,
but a sign of faith, hope, and love.

O Mary, conceived without sin,
pray for us who have recourse to thee.

In this panel the young Virgin, perhaps three or four years old, takes leave of her parents, Anna and Joachim, to enter the temple, where she would live until age 14. Anna and Joachim were elderly and had prayed to God that they might not remain childless.
