Summer gives us a little extra time. Hopefully time for vacations, slower evenings, time at the ballfield, mornings on the porch, or quiet moments by the pool. In those moments, it's also a great opportunity to grow deeper in our walk with Christ through good, thoughtful reading.

One of the most shaping habits for the Christian life is learning to read widely and deeply. Not just to merely gain information, but to grow in wisdom, conviction, and love for the Lord.

Pastor Jared has put together a list of books he plans to read this summer and would love for you to read along with him. Some are theological, some practical, some biographical; but all are intended to help us think more faithfully and love Jesus more deeply.

Whether you read one book or all of them, we hope this list encourages you toward spiritual growth this summer.

The Summer Season has officially begun at NSBC!

Your Abide students are on their way to summer camp this morning, NSBC Kids are going next week...the sun is out (a little), and we are officially loving summer!

AND our summer classes begin this evening! The Womenโ€™s Ministry will kick off their classes tonight at 6:15pm:

-Galatians with Melissa Horton, Rm 128
-Women of The Bible, Rm 127

The Menโ€™s Ministry will be in the Fellowship Hall at 6:15pm:
-Essentials, contโ€™d, Fellowship Hall
-Galatians with Bill Hand, Rm 201 A&B

Plus our Childrenโ€™s Ministry will be gathering downstairs as well.

Oh, and be sure to mark this Sunday evening, 5-7pm as you will not want to miss our FAMILY-WIDE BLOCK PARTY! Weโ€™ll have the huge inflatable out, the grill will be loaded w/ burgers & hot dogs, and plenty of games will be available for everyone in our back lot. Come out and kick off our Summer Sundays - Family Fun Days!

Today we remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is a reminder that freedom is never free.

As we enjoy time with family and friends this weekend, may we pause with gratitude for those who laid down their lives for others.
