This weekend our troop headed out to the range! Our first “Shooting Sports Day” was a great success. The focus for the boys was on weapon safety rules and becoming familiar with the weapons. Our boys had the chance to shoot a blowgun, practice their archery skills, shoot slingshots and BB guns, then finished the day with marshmallow shooters.

Yesterday, we had the great honor of awarding the trailmen for their hard work and dedication during the 2025-2026 program year. This was the first awards program they shared with the American Heritage Girls troop, and it was a blessing to everyone to share the afternoon together. One of our Trailmen even crossed over from Navigator to become our first Adventurer! Congratulations Trailmen on all you have achieved!

Our trailmen journeyed to Attica, MI for the T.H.A.W.W. Campout this weekend! Our theme this weekend was “In God We Trust!” (Acts 5:29) The boys threw tomahawks, learned about foraging in the woods, played archery tag, talked with historic reenactors, shoot .22 rifles and BB guns, and many other great fun activities! They even gathered the courage to put on their very first skit as a troop at Saturdays campfire! It was cold, but very memorable! There were many photos taken, here are a few of our favorites.

What a day! Boys from our troop got the chance to go to the Grand Rapids Public Museum, where they had a chance to see real dinosaur skeletons, touch a human brain, create mountains on a real time topographical map, and much, much more!

We were also treated to see our troop flag flown from the balcony atop of the Amway Grand building downtown by our very own Troopmaster, Jeremy Williams!

Last Friday through Sunday our Trailmen experienced their first “winter campout!” They braved the high winds, freezing rain, snow and cold temperatures to enjoy God’s great outdoors and learn new skills. Our theme for this campout was Manhood, and learning to run towards challenge and adventure as they continue to grow in life and in the Spirit.

What a great time was had at our 2025-2026 Trail Life Worthy Derby! The boys all had a great time building their cars and racing them.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers and parents who helped with building, with set up and tear down, and all of the behind the scenes work. We couldn’t have pulled this off without your help and support. Also a huge thank you to our local American Heritage Girls troop for their efforts running our amazing concession stand! Great job everyone!

We look forward to seeing all the amazing cars next year, and are excited for the Trailmen that have now advanced to the Regionals race soon to come!

The preparations for the 2026 Worthy Derby are underway! We still have a few build days to go, but these boys are getting excited for another awesome day of races and shouts of triumph!
