REMEMBER SEPTEMBER 11,2OO1
What Happened on September 11, 2001, 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial airplanes in a coordinated su***de attack against the United States. [1]

WHAT WAS ATTACKED
• World Trade Center: Two hijacked planes were flown into the Twin Towers (the North and South Towers) in New York City, causing both skyscrapers to collapse and destroying a large part of lower Manhattan.

• The Pentagon: A third hijacked plane crashed into the Pentagon, the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense, just outside Washington, D.C.

• Pennsylvania Field: The fourth plane crashed into a rural field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after passengers and crew fought back against the hijackers, preventing it from hitting its intended target.

• Casualties: The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people. [1]

WHO CAUSED IT...
The attacks were perpetrated by the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda, led by Osama bin Laden. The 19 hijackers on board the planes—mostly from Saudi Arabia, along with others from the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Lebanon—were trained and directed by al-Qaeda to carry out the su***de missions. TODAY’S VERSE
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Ephesians 6:10

TODAY’S THOUGHT
There is no doubt, in this life we need to be strong! How many times are we gripped with temptations, uncertainty, fear, and doubt? How often are we attacked by rouge thoughts that would take us captive and leave our souls barren or imprisoned? It seems no matter how weak we get, we still have more room for weakness. But today’s passage says, “Finally, be strong.” And we try! But our strength just doesn’t seem to be enough. That is why I rejoice in the rest of the passage. When we continue to read we see that we are not alone in this spiritual battle. No, the verse says, “Finally be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” What a difference a few words can make. We are to be strong, but not in our own power. Rather we are to lean upon the generosity of our Lord Jesus Christ and His mighty power. Today, take a few moments and meditate on what “His power” really means. Consider what it can do, think about your life and how different it would be if indeed God unleashed His power in it. This is what He offers. He says, “Come today and use my power. Don’t try to do it on your own. Lean on me. I will give you my power to use so come, be strong in me!”

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, today teach me about Your power. Show me how strong You are. Open my eyes to the possibilities before me as I choose to trust You and Your mighty power.
AMEN

TODAY’S VERSE
Answer this question: Does the God who lavishly provides you with his own presence, his Holy Spirit, working things in your lives you could never do for yourselves, does he do these things because of your strenuous moral striving or because you trust him to do them in you? Galatians 3:5

TODAY’S THOUGHT
How is it we come humbly to Christ for the forgiveness of our sins and then later think that we have to earn His favor? Paul reminds us that Christ has lavishly provided us with His own presence and works things out in our lives that we could never do by ourselves. And He does it because He wants to! We live under the grace of God because we know that He has given us everything we need for the Godliness He requires. God changes us into His likeness by His Holy Spirit He has given us and gives us His divine nature. All we have to do is grow in Him day by day. Today, accept the fact that when you received Christ as your Savior, He becomes alive in you and there is nothing else you have to do to make that a reality. It already is by grace through faith. All you need to do now is to love and trust Him. Accept His deep, deep love for you and completely trust the fact that you are His child. He is pleased with your faith. That's a fact!

TODAY’S PRAYER
Father, thank You for the reality of Your love. Thank You that I can live in the full knowledge that there isn’t anything I need to do or could do to get You to love me any more than You do right now. I pray this in Jesus’ name. AMEN

Many think we have got to try harder to overcome. But the truth is, we need to see Jesus more clearly and walk in that.

TODAY'S VERSE
"Let everyone stand in awe of him." Psalm 33:8

TODAY'S THOUGHT
Have you ever been blown away by something? I'm sure that according to your own desires and likes there are a few things that can inspire you. The Psalmist writes of something much greater than any mountain majesty or beautiful sunset. He writes of the majesty that created the mountain and the sun. He shares, "The LORD merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born. He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs." His conclusion was, "Let the whole world fear the LORD." What about you? When is the last time you stopped and stood in awe of God and even trembled? When have you let your mind go and just soak in His greatness, His power and His holiness? No one can do it for you. The good news is, it's easier than you think. Just stop. Close your eyes and whisper, "How mighty You are, dear God." Let it sink in and add, "I stand in awe of You, Almighty Lord." Then wait. Meidtate on Him. Pause and let the majesty of God flood your soul. He is awesome, He is mighty. Today, stand in awe of Him.

TODAY'S PRAYER
Dear Father and Son of Glory, I stand in awe of You. You are mighty! You are glorious. You are worthy of all my praise and so worthy to worship. To You be the glory, I stand in awe of You. Please amplify my revelation of who You really are. AMEN
