Scripture is clear — every Christian is a minister of the Gospel. Every vocation, every relationship, every ordinary moment is an opportunity to extend the good news of Jesus Christ.
So where do you start? You start by connecting.
Connect with Resources
The more informed you are about the world's needs, the more effectively you can pray, give, and witness. EFM has a few resources at efmmissions.org/connect to get you started:
- Missionary Herald — Monthly magazine with news and reports straight from the mission field
- EFM Blog — Articles and updates on our website and in your inbox
- The Prayer & Praise - Bi-weekly email need and updates straight from our missionaries
Connect with People
You don't have to travel the world to find a mission field. Your coworkers, neighbors, and the stranger in the grocery store aisle all need the Gospel. Here's how to start:
- Ask and listen. Ask people genuine questions, listen intently, pray for them privately, and follow up. Something as simple as "I prayed for your aunt's surgery — how did it go?" opens doors that sermons never could.
- Be hospitable. Make room in your life for someone who needs to belong — a widow, a single mom, an immigrant, a college student. Share meals. Meet practical needs. Love people consistently and watch God open hearts.
The mission field is closer than you think. It might be right next door.
And He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.' — Mark 16:15 (NKJV)
