🌿 Today at St. John’s 🌿

On this first Sunday of Lent, we are invited to reflect on restraint, responsibility, and care for creation. That invitation extends even beyond our own planet.

🚀 Traveling University Lecture: Limiting Contamination of Mars with Life from Earth When Human Explorers Arrive

Join us today as Lisa Pratt—Professor Emerita of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, former NASA Planetary Protection Officer, and Co-Chair of the Committee on Planetary Protection for the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine—explores a pressing question:
As humans prepare to travel to Mars, will the race to explore outweigh the scientific and ethical responsibility to protect another world from irreversible contamination?

🌿 A Lenten Invitation to Reflection & Discovery 🌿

Lent is a season that calls us to slow down, reflect, and ask deeper questions about our responsibility to God’s creation—here on Earth and beyond. As we practice restraint, humility, and care, we invite you to a timely and thought-provoking Traveling University lecture that explores those very themes on a cosmic scale.

Lent is a season to slow down… to pray more deeply… and to root ourselves again in God’s presence.

This year, we invite you to join us on Wednesdays for a simple, meaningful rhythm:

✨ **Celtic Evening Prayer & Communion** at 5:30pm
🍲 **Soup, Supper & Study** at 6:00pm

During our study time, we’ll be exploring the **Book of Psalms** — those honest, beautiful prayers that teach us how to cry out, give thanks, lament, hope, and trust. Together, we’ll discover how the Psalms can become a steady and life-giving part of our own spiritual lives.

Come for prayer.
Stay for supper.
Grow in faith together.

All are welcome this Lenten season. ✝️
