♻️ What is "trash bricking?"

You've probably heard of ecobricks—plastic bottles packed tightly with clean, dry plastic to create reusable building blocks.

"Trash bricking" takes inspiration from that idea, but with a different goal.

Instead of creating a building material, the purpose is simply to reduce the amount of space your household trash occupies.

Some examples:

• Compress chip bags.
• Flatten food packaging.
• Stuff soft plastics into a larger plastic container before disposal (where local recycling isn't available).
• Break down bulky packaging.

The result?

🌎 Fewer air pockets in the trash.
🚛 More efficient transportation.
🗑 Less landfill space used over time.

The most sustainable choice is always to reduce waste in the first place.

But when we do create waste, being thoughtful about how we dispose of it is another way we can care for our neighbors and the Earth.

🌊 Stepping Out of the Boat

This Sunday, we were grateful to welcome a Presbyterian Pastor, Chris Dela Cruz to the pulpit, a beautiful reminder of the communion we share with our Presbyterian siblings in Christ.

Reflecting on the story of Peter walking on the water, we heard a familiar story with a question that still feels very present: What does it mean to trust enough to step out of the boat?

Peter steps onto the water. He falters. He becomes afraid. And still, Christ reaches for him.
