While the school expansion is still under development, the Anglican Church in Paraguay is sharing some more about the impact the school. "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." - Psalm 34:18

God wants to be with us when we are wounded and broken in spirit. In Tigray Ethiopia, where a history of war and conflict has left many impacted, the Diocese of the Horn of Africa partnered with ARDF to use Trauma Healing Institute materials to train facilitators to bring Trauma Healing to their communities. Through their work, the reflection of this psalm becomes palpable to the broken hearted.

As communities along the U.S. Gulf Coast from Mississippi to Florida prepare for Hurricane Isaias, expected to make landfall late Friday night as a Category 2 hurricane, we invite you to join us in lifting them up in prayer. Forecasts anticipate a storm surge of 5 to 7 feet, along with damaging winds, heavy rain, flash flooding, and the possibility of tornadoes.

Please pray for families and individuals as they prepare, evacuate, and seek shelter, that the Lord would keep them safe in the midst of uncertainty. Pray for relief and recovery efforts, that resources would be abundant, that communities would come together to care for one another, and for the safety and wisdom of first responders, emergency personnel and volunteers.

Lord, hear our prayer. 🙏

In Brazil, many people have few options to meet basic needs such as education or health services, and for many parents, childcare is often challenging to find. The Diocese of João Pessoa is providing an alternative space for children and families to receive care and attention - all fueled by the love of Christ! In 2023, ARDF partnered with the Diocese of João Pessoa to build a community center called the Compaixão Project (Compassion Project), providing classes and safe spaces for children to be during the day while their parents are working. The community center includes a sports area and cafeteria, as well as gathering rooms for small and large groups. Since the opening of the Compaixão Project, the Diocese of João Pessoa is already making a significant impact on the surrounding community!
