Beth Samuel Jewish Center is a welcoming community serving Western Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence counties.

Our Religious School
Our religious school includes seven classrooms, including a library/lounge, a computer lab, an accessible ground-floor classroom, and traditional children's classrooms. We provide educational programs from September through May on Sunday mornings for children ages 3 through teens. Adult programming occurs throughout the year on varied days and times to accommodate the schedules of our entire congregation. Read more about our commitment to lifelong education.

Karen got to meet Rena sofer at the Pgh Coffee & Chocolate Festival on Saturday. It was a little emotional, as Rena recalled her childhood growing up in our congregation. Her father, Rabbi Martin Sofer was our spiritual leader from 1973-1982. Rena has since become an Emmy Award-winning actress, but we knew Rena before Hollywood came knocking! Unfortunately, Rabbi Sofer passed in 2011, but he is fondly remembered as part of the chain (l'dor vador) that nurtured our Jewish community here in Ambridge. His memory truly is for a blessing. z''l
