Pamela Jean Bell Huppenthal, 68, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. She was born on July 7, 1958, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Donald L. Bell Sr. and Marietta A. (Yakobik) Bell. Pamela was a graduate of Ambridge High School, Class of 1976. She went on to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN) at Suburban General Hospital in Bellevue. Throughout the years, she also worked as a dispatcher for Valley Ambulance and as a clerical worker and typist for several businesses.
She was a member and past president of the Big Sewickley Creek Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. At the urging of her late cousin, Denny Young, Pamela also served as a firefighter for several years, demonstrating her dedication to helping others and serving her community.Pamela enjoyed traveling, attending country music concerts with friends, and spending time at drag strips supporting her husband in his racing endeavors. Alongside her husband, she was a faithful member of New Hope Community Church in Ambridge, where she devoted much of her time and energy to helping restore faith and hope in the hometown she loved so dearly. Having grown up at 199 Crestview Village, surrounded by the many wonderful families who made that community special, Pamela carried a deep affection for her hometown throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Eric Huppenthal of Economy; her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Justin Miller of Fair Oaks; her son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Sarah Huppenthal of Economy; and her former son-in-law and his wife, Jerra and Ashley Morgan of Center Township. She also leaves behind her five beloved grandchildren: Deanna and Jordan Morgan, Kinsley Miller, and David and Domenic Huppenthal. Pamela is also survived by her four brothers and sisters-in-law: Donald L. Jr. and Amy Bell of Beaver Falls, Mark Bell of Monaca, Randy Bell and Freda Juba of Ohio, and Shawn and Tracy Bell of Beaver; her two sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Richard Fogg of Monaca and Roberta Merriman of Patterson Township; her brothers-in-law, Michael and Victor Huppenthal of Economy; and her aunt, Mary Ann Black of Bradenville. She will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. In addition to her parents, Pamela was preceded in death by her grandparents, Samuel and Rachael Johnson Bell and Andrew and Mary Polacek Yakobik; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Michael and Wanda Huppenthal; her sisters-in-law, Cathy Bell, Tracy Jahoda, and Sandra Huppenthal; and her nephews, Michael Bell, Adam Kimberlin, and Zachary Jahoda. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Rick Thornhill and his wife, Sherry, for the compassionate friendship, unwavering support, and light of God they shared with Pamela and her family throughout the years.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at New Hope Community Church, 592 Beaver Road, Ambridge. Additional visitation will be held at the church on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Economy Cemetery.
