Earlier today, for the first time, Al-Falah Mosque held the summit of our Teh & Slay series: Teh & Slay Day. ✨
The event began with a Quranic recitation and opening address which then unfolded into a day of learning, reflection, connection and community based on the Vision of the Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him. The event brought together 132 attendees in one shared space.
Throughout the day, our three breakout sessions offered different avenues for reflection and conversation relating to the Prophet ﷺ. The breakouts were Chosen for This Life with Ustaz Fizar Zainal and Jasmine Tay, Beyond the Page with Ustazah Nur Hidayah Azman and Ustazah Zahraturrofiqah, and What Do You Have To Give with Ustaz Nuzulul Qadar and Hafizah Ghazali.
Beyond the sessions, there were plenty of spaces to pause, explore and connect; from the live coffee station by Ground Floor Coffee and churros by Chulop, to the illustration and Arabic Calligraphy booths, as well as mini exhibition write-ups sharing reflections on the life of the Prophet ﷺ.
Teh & Slay Day culminated with our main panel discussion, bringing the conversations and perspectives from across the day into one powerful closing. The speakers, Ustaz Nuzulul Qadar and Prof Khairudin Aljunied inspired the audience to become the best Ummah, and honour this title, and carrying the Prophetic Legacy through the topic of the forum The Ummah We Choose To Be: Becoming The Best Generation.
After Zuhr, we concluded with a Maulid recitation followed by a short tazkirah by Ustaz Khairi Nazron; a fitting close to a day centred around remembrance, learning and togetherness.
To everyone who attended, spoke, contributed, supported and helped bring Teh & Slay Day to lift: Thank you. 🤍
We hope the conversations continue, the reflections stay with you, and the connections made extend beyond the day itself.
Until we meet again in our next Teh & Slay session, inshaAllah. ❤️
