Our prayers as one Church continue for Fr Simon. He departed today, 13th September 2026. It is also the day of the Fifth Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. May he rest in peace.
Here is how to pray The Chaplet of the Holy Souls.
After making the sign of the cross while holding the crucifix of the rosary, say the Apostlesโ Creed. On the first large bead, pray the Our Father. On the following three small beads, pray three Hail Marys. On the next large bead, pray the Glory Be.
On the five large beads before each decade, pray:
โO Holy Souls, draw the fire of Godโs love into my soul, to reveal Jesus Crucified in me here on earth, rather than hereafter in purgatory.โ
Then on the 10 small beads of each decade, pray:
โCrucified Lord Jesus, have mercy on the souls in purgatory.โ
Conclude with the Glory Be three times and make the sign of the cross.

With deep sadness yet with steadfast hope in the Resurrection, the Redemptorist Vice Province of Malaysia and Singapore announces the passing over of our beloved confrere, Rev. Fr. Simon Pereira, CSsR. He returned to the house of the Father on 13 September 2026 morning at the age of 78, after 55 years of religious profession and 49 years of priesthood.
We are profoundly grateful for Fr. Simonโs dedicated service to the people of God , his commitment to the Redemptorist Congregation, his profound prayer life, and his zeal and passion for the missions. We continue to celebrate his life and vocation with joy and gratitudeโฆ
Let us unite in prayer for the eternal repose of Fr. Simon and for the comfort of his family and the Redemptorist community at this difficult time.
