AREA 25 SDA CHURCH HOSTS UPLIFTING CHURCH CHOIR DAY

On 8th August, 2026, Area 25 Seventh-Day Adventist Church hosted a joyful Church Choir Day, featuring a special guest preacher, Evangelist Cedrick Mtefula from Lingadzi SDA Church in Lilongwe. Evangelist Mtefula began his sermon by quoting from Sister Ellen G. White’s *Testimonies for the Church, Volume 9, page 143*, “When people sing from the heart with the spirit and understanding, heavenly musicians take up the strain and join in the song.” He made this comment following a stirring performance by Chipasula SDA Church Choir, the guest singing groups for the day.

Evangelist Mtefula affirmed that all songs performed by both Area 25 SDA Church Choir and Chipasula SDA Church Choir perfectly reflected the spirit described in the quotation. His sermon drew from 2 Samuel 7:1-18 and Daniel 6:1, emphasizing the powerful message found in music. In a post-service interview, he advised all singing groups to ensure their behaviour aligns with the songs they sing and encouraged Area 25 Church Choir to continue their faithful service to God through music.

After the lunch break, the programme resumed under the theme "This Troubled World," with speeches from choir members and spirited singing from both choirs until the close of Sabbath. Elder Samuel Manyamba, Church Choir Chair person, expressed heartfelt thanks to Chipasula SDA Church Choir, Evangelist Cedrick Mtefula, and the Area 25 Church Choir members for their contributions in making the event a wonderful success.

VOCATIONAL BIBLE SCHOOL CONCLUDES AT SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH AREA 25

The Seventh-Day Adventist Church AREA 25 recently concluded its annual Vocational Bible School (VBX), an engaging and spiritually enriching weeklong camping event designed for children. This special programme allows young participants to learn the Bible through activities and lessons tailored specifically to their age groups, creating a meaningful and enjoyable experience for all involved. Shepherdess Joyce Bowa, the Children’s Ministries leader, shared her excitement over the success of this year’s VBX. "The week was so nice for our children, as well as for us their leaders," she said. "We saw so much joy and growth in the kids during the week."

A heartfelt testimonial came from Elder Kamwendo, a parent from Likuni SDA Church, whose son attended the programme. Grateful for the positive impact of VBX, he remarked, "My son participated this year and even received an award for his behaviour during the week. We truly believe he benefited greatly from the event, and I am committed to sending him again next year." Adding to the spirit of the event, this year’s VBX welcomed children from outside the local district, making the experience even more special. The diverse attendance highlighted the programme’s strong reputation and the church’s embrace of this vibrant children’s ministries. The week’s activities included Bible lessons, worship, games, music, and crafts, all designed to teach biblical truths in ways that children could easily understand and apply in their daily lives. The event culminated in closing Sabbath with a special programme where the children had the opportunity to showcase what they had learned to the entire congregation, filling the church with joy and pride.
The Vocational Bible School is an annual church programme under the Children’s Ministries Department, cherished for its ability to nurture faith, build friendships, and empower children in their spiritual journeys.
