One of the greatest marks of spiritual maturity is the ability to discern the difference between what is seasonal and what is eternal. God, in His infinite wisdom, orchestrates our lives with a divine rhythm—some provisions are meant to sustain us temporarily, while others are designed to nourish His eternal purpose in us. The tragedy is when these two are confused.

Some believers cling to seasonal relationships, jobs, or opportunities, thinking they are eternal. Others abandon divine alignments or purposes because they mislabel them as temporary or circumstantial. The result? Frustration, stagnation, and spiritual weariness.

There is wisdom in understanding that not every open door is a lifetime invitation. Not every friendship is a covenant relationship. Not every opportunity is meant to carry eternal weight. But there are also people, roles, and doors that are divinely appointed to journey with us across decades because they feed and sustain God’s eternal agenda in our lives.

Just as manna in the wilderness was a provision for a specific time, so too are some blessings, connections, and placements. When the cloud moves, we must be ready to move. When a person’s purpose in our life has been fulfilled, we must be able to bless them and release them.

Discernment is key. It helps us know what to honor temporarily and what to steward eternally. Discerning the difference protects our hearts, preserves our energy, and positions us accurately in God’s divine timeline.

The grace of God turned Saul, the persecutor, into Paul, the preacher and Apostle to the gentiles, and someone who wrote epistles to different churches. So dramatic was the change in Paul’s life that the church in Jerusalem suspected that it was a trick, and they had a hard time accepting him.

Paul saw His salvation as a pattern of God’s patience towards sinners. If God could forgive a persecutor of the Church, such as Paul, He can forgive any sinner who can humbly ask for mercy and forgiveness.

The same God who was longsuffering towards Paul continues to be merciful to sinners. God does not desire the death of the sinner in his sin. He desires that all people come to repentance and salvation in Christ (2 Peter 3:9).

God uses the salvation of those we consider as the most evil to show the extent of His love and grace. Think of some of the people who blaspheme the name of the Lord and hate Christians or anything related to the Church. Can you imagine what it would be like for those people to experience the grace of God unto Salvation? What a testimony it would be! Why don’t you commit to praying for such people? They may be in your family, office or community. They could be people you know in the media. Pray that they will experience what the Apostle Paul experienced on the road to Damascus.

Acts 2:4 reminds us of the powerful moment when the Holy Spirit filled the Apostles and believers on the day of Pentecost. God’s Spirit gave them boldness, wisdom, and power to speak and witness according to His will.

The Holy Spirit strengthens, teaches, comforts, guides, equips and empowers believers to live faithfully and boldly for Christ. When fear, confusion, or weakness tries to overwhelm you, remember that the Spirit of God dwells in those who trust Him. His presence brings peace in chaos, courage in battles, and direction in uncertain seasons.

The same Holy Spirit who moved powerfully in the early church is still working wonders today— empowering believers, changing hearts, restoring lives, and drawing people closer to God.

This Pentecost Sunday, we pause to remember and celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, a defining moment not only in the life of the early Church, but in the ongoing life of every believer.

As Pentecostal people, we do not merely celebrate a historical event. We celebrate a present reality.

The Holy Spirit is not a distant doctrine to be discussed, but the abiding presence of God to be cherished. He is our Comforter in troubled times, our Counselor in confusing times, our Strength in weak times, and our Power for holy living and faithful witness.

We need the Holy Spirit in our personal lives; to guide us, convict us, empower us, and keep our hearts tender towards God.

We need the Holy Spirit in our families, to bring peace where there is tension, wisdom where there are difficult decisions, healing where there is hurt, and spiritual fire in our generation.

We need the Holy Spirit in our churches, not merely for emotional moments, but for genuine revival, spiritual discernment, bold preaching, authentic worship, supernatural ministry, and a renewed passion for the mission of Christ.

And certainly, we need the Holy Spirit in this hour in our society.

When truth is being blurred, morality is being redefined, confusion is increasing, and hearts are growing cold, the answer is not merely better strategies, stronger opinions, or louder voices. We need the Spirit of God moving again with conviction, power, wisdom, and awakening.

Pentecost reminds us that the Church was never meant to operate in human strength alone.

May we never take for granted the presence of the Holy Spirit. May we never lose our hunger for His power. May we remain a people who welcome His work, obey His voice, and depend fully upon His leading.

On this Pentecost Sunday, may the fire of God burn fresh in our hearts, our homes, our churches, and across our nation.

"Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts"- Zechariah 4:6
