During the Pentecost Vigil, Bro. Arnel Santos, together with Sis. Bing, shared a moving testimony of God’s goodness and faithfulness, both in their personal journey and in the life of the community.

Their sharing reminded everyone that God keeps His promise to remain with us “until the end of the age,” inviting us to believe, trust, and walk with Him in every step of our mission.

The evening began with the Pentecost Vigil Mass, presided by Fr. Jay Dador and Fr. Jubanie Baller at the CFC Vatican Office. Members of CFC Rome were present onsite, while brothers and sisters from other Southeast Europe countries joined online, creating a beautiful spirit of unity across Europe.

"This year’s meeting focused on the theme “Serving, Accompanying, Guiding: Foundations and Practices of Governance in Associations.”

Discussions examined governance from pastoral, theological and canonical perspectives, with particular attention to safeguarding charisms, ensuring transparent structures and maintaining communion within the Church.

Among the groups represented was Couples for Christ, one of the few Asian-founded lay associations with international recognition from the Holy See, reflecting the growing role of Asian Catholic communities in the global Church.

The Philippine-based movement was represented by CFC chairman and president Arnel Santos and Norman Robles, a member of the organization’s international council."

Speaking to leaders of international ecclesial associations, Pope Leo XIV said safeguarding communion within the Church is a central responsibility of Catholic leaders.

ATM: Bro. Arnel Santos, CFC Chairman and President, and Bro. Norman Robles, member of the International Council, are attending the Annual Meeting of Moderators of Vatican Recognized Movements, organized by the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life.

Pope Leo XIV opened the gathering with a message on serving, accompanying, and guiding as the heart of governance in ecclesial associations. He reminded movements that leadership is a charism for the spiritual good of the community, lived through listening, co responsibility, transparency, and discernment. He also encouraged all movements to preserve their charisms and respond prophetically to the pastoral needs of today.

After his address, the Holy Father took time to meet each participant individually before leaving the venue.

We thank the Lord for the grace of being part of this annual gathering. As CFC, we renew our commitment to continue the mission entrusted to us, to serve the Church with humility, and to collaborate joyfully with ecclesial movements, and communities in building communion and advancing the work of evangelization.
