What happens when 60 students step into the world of ancient Roman mosaics? They get to create a piece of history with their own hands. ✨

We had the pleasure of welcoming around 60 students from St. Stephen’s School in Rome, divided into four groups, across two beautiful art studios for an intensive and inspiring day of mosaic-making.

As part of their studies on Ancient Rome, the students explored the art of mosaics through a hands-on experience, discovering the techniques, materials, and creativity behind this timeless tradition.

A huge thank you to for making this wonderful collaboration possible, and to all the students who brought so much curiosity and energy into our studios. It was a full, intense, and truly rewarding day!

That’s exactly how our students from Temple University Rome spent their day with us at Michelangelo for a Day.

We had such a wonderful time welcoming the students of Temple University Rome’s Adult Study Abroad program for a special mosaic workshop.
We laughed, experimented, learned the ancient art of mosaic-making and, most importantly, shared a truly special time together.

We were absolutely delighted to host the French agency Family Twist in our studio for an aperitivo to celebrate the achievements of this season!As the guides and the entire team behind this success shared stories over a glass of w**e, we also shared a creative moment: piece by piece, we crafted a beautiful small mosaic together as a memory of this evening.An evening filled with fun, connection, and emotion!

Three young Michelangelos!

One of our favorite combinations of a tour and an art class is our Fresco Workshop paired with a visit to the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museums — a perfect journey into the world of fresco painting in Rome.

After admiring the masterpieces of Michelangelo, the three little artists had the chance to create their very own fresco, getting their hands into the ancient technique and experiencing the magic of painting on fresh plaster.

A truly special experience — and a wonderful memory for three beautiful young artists!

Is there a sweeter way to discover the artistic wonders of Rome than by creating a piece of art of your own to treasure forever?

With Lisa and her wonderful family, we spent the morning exploring the breathtaking beauty of St. Peter’s Basilica, standing in awe before its extraordinary mosaics, masterpieces that have inspired visitors for centuries.

After a refreshing break, we slowed down and embraced the joy of creating our own little mosaic. Using the very same ancient techniques—and even mosaic tesserae handcrafted by the same Venetian artisans who continue this centuries-old tradition—we experienced the timeless magic of this art.

More than just a workshop, it was a journey through history, creativity, and shared moments. A truly unforgettable day, filled with beauty, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime.
