We are continuing our summer sermon series, 'Good News for the World', and we would love it if you would join us on Sunday 21st June. This particular morning is a special one for our village, as we’ll be celebrating our Patronal Festival for St John the Baptist alongside the next part of our series - 'A Ministry of Reconciliation'.

Whether you’re a regular face in the pews or a curious visitor, our doors are open. Sunday morning presents a wonderful chance to gather in our historic building, to celebrate its founding with some well known hymns, and to explore how we can be a blessing to one another in the heart of our community.

The service begins at 9:30am. Please do pull up a pew and be part of the fellowship!

The Safari Supper is tomorrow and it looks like it's going to be glorious!

Always a highlight of our village calendar, this is a wonderful evening filled with good food, plenty of laughter, and the chance to catch up with neighbours old and new.

We are so grateful to those who have been willing to open their homes to guests and to provide food, drink and hospitality. This is no small undertaking and the longevity of this event owes much to people being willing to put themselves out for the wider community. With this in mind, perhaps we may encourage guests to honour our hosts and their generosity by arriving and departing from each venue at a reasonable time. Thank you.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Sometimes, life can feel like a bit of a maze, and it’s easy to feel a little lost in the shuffle. But there’s a wonderful promise that we aren’t just left to find our own way: we are actively sought after.

On Sunday 7th June, we’re beginning a brand-new sermon series called ‘Good News for the World.’ Our first gathering focuses on ‘The Shepherd who Seeks,’ exploring the comforting truth that someone is always in your corner, looking out for you.

Whether you’re a regular face at Widford Church or a curious visitor looking for a bit of peace and hope, we’d be delighted if you were to join us. Our historic building is a sanctuary for everyone, and there’s always a warm welcome waiting for you.

Come and find some stillness with us at 9:30 am.

There’s something very special about the moments when our three village churches come together as one big family. It's obviously important that the churches meet regularly in their own communities, but the occasional joint gatherings are precious reminders that we are part of something bigger.

On Sunday 31st May, we’re heading over to Holy Trinity, Wareside, for a United service on Trinity Sunday. As part of our series on Jesus’ identity, we’ll be exploring the beautiful truth of ‘God with Us’.

So as we remember God with us and we worship and catch up with friends from other places, we’d love it if you would join us. Our combined celebration starts at 10:30am.

Whether you’re a regular face or visiting for the first time, there’s a place for you at the table - everyone is welcome.

There is a wonderful comfort in knowing that someone is always in your corner, speaking up on your behalf. This Sunday, we are continuing our series on the identity of Jesus by looking at his role as the ‘Intercessor’. Whether you are facing a busy week or simply looking for some encouragement, come and explore what it means to have Jesus standing with you, providing a bridge to the throne of God.

Our service is at St John the Baptist here in Widford this Sunday, 17th May, at 9:30am. It is always a joy to see familiar faces and to welcome new ones into our friendly community.

Something has gone wrong with our outgoing emails.

Microsoft has blocked part of the network which includes our email sending service, so we currently can't send anything to Hotmail, Live, Outlook, or MSN addresses.

We are working hard with Microsoft to lift these restrictions, but we’re a bit hampered for a while. If you are expecting a reply from us, we are very sorry and ask you to bear with us while we get this sorted.

Thank you for your patience! 🙏

We’d really love it if you would join us at St John the Baptist this Sunday, 3rd May, at 9:30 am as we continue our series considering Jesus’ identity.

This week, we are reflecting on Jesus as the ‘Witness’. What has he seen? What testimony does he bear? What light does this shine into our world today?

Our Sunday services are open to everyone and there's always a warm welcome. However, if you can’t make it on Sunday, please do remember that our historic building is kept open every day during daylight hours. It is a wonderful space for anyone in the village to find a moment of peace, prayer or reflection.

Hope to see you on Sunday.

Doesn't this look idyllic? It may be the product of an AI "imagination," but it's a remarkably accurate portrayal of the splendid hospitality that Widford hosts have provided over many years. Yes, after the wonderful success of previous years, we are pleased to announce that our Safari Supper is returning on Friday, 19th June!

For those who haven’t joined us before, it is a delightful evening of ‘travelling hospitality’. We start with starters at one home, move on to a main course at another, and finally gather all together for puddings and plenty of chatter. It’s a lovely way to catch up with old acquaintances and perhaps find a few new friends along the way.

We’d love it if you would join us for what is always a highlight of our village's summer calendar. Do keep a look out, as tickets will be available early next month.

"He taught them as one who had authority." That's what some of Jesus' contemporaries said about him. Our minds often go to his miracles, but Jesus was first and foremost a Teacher and Preacher. Indeed, he said, "That is why I have come."

We’d love it if you would join us this Sunday, 19th April, as we explore some critical parts of Jesus' teaching together. You may uncover something you've never seen before - indeed, that's part of the Bible passage we're considering together.

Our doors are open every day during daylight hours if you ever need a peaceful spot for a moment of reflection or prayer, but there's great benefit in learning alongside others. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Our annual Easter service is always a joyful and heart-warming event. We’d love it if you would join our friendly church family at St John the Baptist's Church tomorrow (5th April) at 9:30am as we celebrate together.

And if you're one of those people who values our doors being kept open through the week for everyone to take their own quiet moment of prayer and reflection... we're pleased to serve you in that way, but there’s nothing quite like the collective celebration of Easter Sunday. It'd be great to see you.

We look forward to celebrating Christ's victory over the grave and singing out our hallelujahs. See you there?
