This is the final week of our sermon series, “The Human Condition: The Gospel Answer.” Appropriately, we'll be considering what many people would call our final enemy - death - and the good news we have in Jesus who rose from the tomb.

Our readings are from 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 and John 11:17–27.

Four weeks from today, on Sunday, 8th November at 10:45am, we will gather at the Hunsdon War Memorial for our Service of Remembrance.

We will come together to remember those who gave their lives in conflict, and to hold in prayer all who have known loss and grief through war. It is a time to reflect, to give thanks, and to honour the names of those from our village who are remembered there.

All are warmly invited to join us.

Our sermon series, “The Human Condition: The Gospel Answer,” continues at Hunsdon Church on Sunday, 11th October at 11am.

We will explore this week’s theme, “Blind and Unable to See,” with readings from Ephesians 5:8–14 and John 9:1–41.

Join us as we reflect on spiritual blindness, sight, and the transforming light of the gospel.

Hunsdon Food Bank operates as a practical expression of the church's commitment to supporting those in need within the local community.

We supported Harlow Food Bank for many years - from its inception in around 2009. Initially, we collected donations from church members and the wider community through collection points located at the church and in the village, including the school's harvest festival. These allowed residents to contribute non-perishable items such as tinned goods, pasta, rice, cereals, and toiletries.

During the Covid pandemic, it became apparent that there was a need within the village, so we switched to support the newer Hertford and District Foodbank. We now operate a "satellite" service, receiving and processing requests from residents on behalf of the Foodbank.

Each referral is handled with discretion, ensuring that those who access the service are treated with dignity and receive appropriate support. The service works alongside other local agencies to identify those who may benefit from assistance.
