Children’s Mental Health Week 3rd - 9th February 2025
Today we would like you to join us to stop and pray. The stark reality is that children and young people are struggling with their mental health for many different reasons. But we know there is hope and we believe in a God who can do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.
Loving God,
We come before you today with lots of thoughts and feelings surrounding the topic of children’s mental health. Our hearts break when we see children and young people suffering. We bring all those children and young people who are struggling with mental health issues to you, asking that you would give them the strength they need to overcome their challenges. Surround them with your love, so that they can begin to understand their true worth.
We pray that we might be sensitive to the issues that affect children and young people today. We pray that our eyes will be open to their needs, our hearts would be open to walking with them, and our ears would be open to listen to them non-judgmentally.
We ask for your guidance and wisdom for leaders, parents, caregivers, and educators who work tirelessly to support children and young people with their wellbeing. Give them ever-increasing patience and understanding as they journey alongside them in all areas of life.
Finally, we pray for all those working in the Mental Health sector. We recognise that specialist services are overstretched, and that health professionals feel the strain both professionally and personally. May they be guided by your wisdom and love, and may their efforts make a real difference to those in their care.
Father God, we pray that there is an outpouring of your love and hope in the lives of all the children and young people everywhere.
Amen
