Emma Watson’s Fund-Raising Challenge
On Saturday and Sunday 13th/14th June 2026, Emma is taking on an ultra running challenge to raise funds for the tower at Christ Church Colne.
The Spine Challenger South is one of the UK’s toughest ultramarathons — a non-stop 108-mile race following the Pennine Way from Edale in Derbyshire to Hawes in North Yorkshire. The route crosses some of the country’s most rugged terrain, including Kinder Scout, Black Hill, Malham Cove and Pen-y-Ghent, with around 15,000 feet of climbing along the way. Competitors have up to 60 hours to complete the challenge, carrying essential kit and battling whatever weather the Pennines decide to deliver.
Often described as “Britain’s most brutal race”, the Spine is renowned for testing endurance, resilience and determination as much as physical fitness.
Emma will be taking on this challenge to help raise funds for essential work on the church tower at Christ Church Colne — helping preserve an important part of the local community and its history for future generations.
