News reports and social media feeds can often make it feel like the UK is more divided than ever. The voices of those who spread hate and seek to divide communities can seem loud, but they ignore the millions of actions which spread hope and kindness every day, and show what is possible when we come together to make positive change happen.

From 13–20 May, A Million Acts of Hope will bring together all these everyday acts of hope and shine a light on the people and communities making them happen. It’s a national initiative being led by community and faith groups, and charities big and small.

It’s 240 years since the founder of Methodism, John Wesley, preached at Southfield, resulting in local man William Sagar building Southfield Chapel to fulfil his promise to Wesley.

To commemorate this we will be open from 10am on Saturday 2nd May for anyone to have a look round the chapel and have a brew.
This will be followed by our usual Saturday service at 5pm, lead by Rev Adrian Perry, with Wesleyan hymns.

If anyone can lend a hand in the kitchen for a couple of hours through the day it would be very much appreciated- please drop us a message!
