Friendship House

Friendship House Friendship House is based in Blythe Street & provides a Christian witness to the Sandy Row Community Friendship Group for everyone on a Wednesday morning.

It is ideally situated on a residential street adjacent to shops, factories and other community facilities. It is a place in which fellowship and support are available. We have homework and play clubs for primary school-age children. Tots and Toddlers group for Preschool children and their parents/careers. We currently have a staff team of two, Carol, our Children's Worker and Robert, the project

leader. We are supported by an amazing team of volunteers. In the early days of South Belfast Friendship House, the PWA was responsible for its management and funding. In 2017 The Council for Mission in Ireland took over the management role and will be key in the development of the House. We hope to continue to have a crucial role in working with families in this area of South Belfast. The House was renovated and extended to include a new multipurpose room and was reopened in March 2010 by The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor, Councillor Naomi Long. The act of worship and Rededication was conducted by The Rt Rev Dr Stafford Carson, Moderator of the General Assembly.

Please pray for our student deaconesses!

🙏 Let's Pray 🙏
✝ Trainee deaconesses, Sonya Boal and Olivia Smyth
Give thanks for trainee deaconesses, Sonya Boal in Elmwood, Lisburn, and Olivia Smyth in Wellington, Ballymena. Pray that they will have times of rest and refreshment over the summer months and be encouraged in their ongoing witness in the churches in which they have been placed.
⛪ Irvinestown, Pettigo and Tempo, Rev Günter Andrich
Give thanks for the supply preachers who skilfully and faithfully help with worship on Sundays. Also, for Sunday school teachers taking a well-deserved break from mid-June. Pray for all the arrangements for the Spring Afternoon Tea for all the housebound members on Thursday 18 June.
