Archbishop Percy O’Driscoll, former bishop of Huron and the 15th metropolitan of the ecclesiastical province of Ontario, died on April 17.

The Fourth Sunday of Easter is Vocations Sunday, also known as Good Shepherd Sunday. It is a time to reflect on God's call in our daily living, including to ordained and lay ministry. We look forward to welcoming Dr. Dan Smith, Dean of Faculty of Theology & Vice President, Academic at Huron University as our Guest Speaker at 10 a.m this Sunday. Do you hear God's calling in your life?

Our St. Michael's Family join many in sadness upon the passing of Archbishop Percy O'Driscoll, 10th Bishop of Huron and former Parish Priest of St. Michael's and St. Margaret's. We thank God for Percy's life of service, his friendship, wisdom and witness, and keep Sue, Leslie, Sean and their families in our prayers as they navigate this painful time.

Rest in Peace: The Most Reverend Percy O'Driscoll

With sadness and thanksgiving for a life lived in service, Bishop Townshend announces the death of the 10th Bishop of Huron, Archbishop Percy O’Driscoll, this morning, 17 April 2026. Please hold Sue, Leslie and family, and Sean and family, in your prayers. Additional details and an obituary will be forthcoming.

Rest eternal grant unto him O Lord.
And light perpetual shine upon him.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.

We dedicate these new doors to the glory of God and in loving memory of our dear brother, pastor, friend and companion along the Way, the Rt. Rev. Robert Franklin Bennett - Bishop Bob. And we bless these entrances that they might proclaim the love of God in Christ Jesus our Saviour, today, and for ever more."
Rev. Mike led us with these words, as together, we honoured and celebrated our beloved Bishop Bob through the blessing and dedication of our new entrance doors in his memory. Bishop Bob left such a beautiful and enduring legacy of love and welcome for all people. May these entrances be lasting reminders of his faithful invitation for all to be welcomed in God's name. ❤️🙏

Our beloved Bishop Bob passed away one year ago this week. His physical presence among us is deeply missed, but his gentle and joyful spirit continue to journey with us here at St. Michael's and beyond. Please join us tomorrow at our 10 am service as we celebrate his life and honour his witness of welcome as we dedicate our new entrance doors in his honour. Thanks be to God.
