Happy Mother’s Day from CBOQ 💐

Today we celebrate and honour the mothers and mother figures who care, encourage, support, and love so faithfully.

We know this day can look different for everyone, and we pray that wherever you are today, you would experience God’s peace and presence.

My Sisters’ Place:

Friends we have an ongoing need for emergency clothing—particularly bottoms. Our preference is bottoms with some stretch, for comfort and easy fit. This includes leggings, yoga pants, sweatpants and the like.

We welcome donations at our side door (566 Dundas Street, enter from William Street) weekdays from 10:00-4:00 & 4:30-7:00. Weekends from 10:30-1:30

*Please note we will be closed Thursday afternoon this week for staff training.

*Saturday is a great day to drop off donations this week! The Coach House will be open from 10-3 for the Micro Enterprise’s Annual Spring Sale!

Most of us are searching for peace in all the wrong places — studying harder, earning more, trying to understand everything. But at the end of the day, knowledge will fade, our understanding will fall short, and money will run out. But the peace of God? It holds steadfast.

Real peace isn't something you have to earn, but it's found in a person, and that person is Jesus.

"In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety." — Psalm 4:8 NIV

Comment PEACE if you're resting in Him today 🕊️ — and save this verse in the Bible App for the next time anxiety tries to creep in.

As parents point their kids to Jesus, let's pray for their own trust and faith.

🌍 This , we’re reminded that the earth is not ours to keep, but to care for.

In places like the DR Congo, farmers like Paluku Mahamba are rediscovering what it means to steward the land well.

After training in sustainable agriculture, Paluku planted over 1,600 cacao trees and began growing food for his family. What once felt impossible is now a quiet testimony of God’s provision.

🌱 “I didn’t know I could grow my own vegetables or build something for my future.”

With the right tools, knowledge, and community, this calling to care for creation is being renewed—restoring both land and livelihood.

From survival to stewardship.
From scarcity to daily bread.

Together, we join in this work - trusting God to bring growth, in the soil and in the lives of those who tend it.
