When Samuel set up a stone after God helped Israel defeat the Philistines, he named it Ebenezer, “the stone of help,” and declared, “Up to this point the Lord has helped us” (1 Samuel 7:12).
On Sunday we were reminded that remembering God’s faithfulness is something we have to do on purpose. Often, we are quick to remember the problems of a season and slow to remember the grace that carried us through it. So, we remember what He has done, we record it in a song, a journal or a photo, and we recount it so that yesterday’s testimony can strengthen someone else’s faith for tomorrow.
