This is where generations of St. John's children first heard the stories that shaped their faith. Look closely and you can almost hear it: benches scraping against the floor, voices reciting memory verses, the creak of that gallery railing as latecomers slipped into their seats.

This room doesn't exist anymore. It was remodelled years ago into something else entirely, and if you walked through that part of the building today, you'd have no way of knowing children once sat here learning about Jesus for the first time. But the photograph remembers what the walls no longer can.

Somewhere in this room, someone's grandmother learned her first Bible verse. Someone's great-grandfather grew up in these pews, raised in the faith from his earliest years. We don't know all their names. But we know they were part of St. John's story, and that this place mattered enough to shape who came after them.

That's the strange gift of an old photograph like this one. It holds a room in place long after the room itself is gone.
