Title: “Peace Theology and Peace Pedagogy: Sources for Youth Ministry"
Theologies of peace have deep roots in the Christian tradition but have often been discounted or forgotten. Strains of Biblical scholarship, however, have highlighted Jesus as a teacher of peace and nonviolence. What if we take seriously Jesus as “peace pedagogue” and look to him for clues as to how we should be teaching young people? In this webinar, I will briefly highlight biblically-rooted resources for peace education with youth, and, drawing from my book, Youth Ministry as Peace Education, suggest ways that youth pastors can integrate practices that have the potential to equip young people to follow Jesus as peacemakers.
