Scripture
Deuteronomy 14:22 (NLT):
“You must set aside a tithe of your crops—one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year.
This scripture teaches us that giving should be a regular exercise in our walk with God. The Israelites were instructed to set aside their tithe every year, making generosity a deliberate and consistent habit. In the same way, we should not wait until we have an abundance before we give. Giving regularly develops a heart of gratitude, obedience, and trust in God's provision.
As parents, we also have a responsibility to teach our children the value of giving. Children learn by example. When they see us faithfully honoring God with our resources, they grow up understanding that everything we have comes from Him. Encouraging them to give from a young age helps cultivate generosity, stewardship, and a lifelong commitment to putting God first.
Let us make a family practice, a church culture, and a joyful expression of our faith. When we consistently honor God with what He has entrusted to us, we are investing not only in His work but also in the spiritual growth of the next generation.
