Before they were called foreigners, migrants or outsiders…
They were people.
And they still are.
Love your neighbour as yourself. ♥️

Kindness never goes out of style. 💜

Before heading to Tshwane for the Miss Junior South Africa 2026 Finals next week, Sarah and Aliyah chose to show compassion to women facing hardship in our street based community.

Thank you for thinking beyond yourselves and for making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

We're cheering you on every step of the way and wish you both a wonderful week, unforgettable memories and the very best for the finals. ✨

Kindness has a ripple effect.
A donation becomes a meal.
A meal becomes a conversation.
A conversation becomes a connection.
And sometimes, a connection changes a life. ❤️

Thank you PMB & District Community Chest for your generous donation to our Life Boat Resource Centre.

Your support helps us create those moments of care, dignity, and hope for people experiencing homelessness every day.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 ✨

A few months ago a man, a man who had been coming to the Life Boat Centre left after he found employment on a farm in Camperdown.

This week, he came back. Not looking for help, bringing it!!! He arrived with his employer with a generous donation of pumpkin for our community.

Sometimes the most beautiful part of a donation isn’t what’s been given.
It’s seeing how far someone has come 🩶

It’s worth remembering that stories like this don’t happen on their own. Whether you volunteer, donate, pray, share our posts, or simply champion the work we do, you help write stories like these. ✨

Thank you for being part of our journey.

This week our team stepped away from the noise and gathered in a beautiful garden setting at The Knoll Guest Farm for a reminder of our WHY.

There were meaningful conversations, moments of reflection, a few “Have a break” pauses 🍫😅… and an important reminder that no role is insignificant.

Thami shared the analogy of an orchestra: not everyone carries the melody, but remove one instrument and the music changes completely.
Then, through Caroline’s thoughtful garden walk, more reminders quietly appeared:
You are planted.
You are watered.
You grow.
And in time, fruit comes.

Maybe the quiet work matters more than we realise. Maybe the things growing beneath the surface are still growing, even when we cannot yet see the fruit. 💚

What happens when people from a street-based community and dogs in foster care share the same space? ❤️🐾

Something quietly beautiful.

The hesitation softens. The walls come down a little. Smiles appear. And somewhere between a wagging tail and a gentle pat, connection begins.

Maybe it’s because rescue journeys — whether human or animal — often carry familiar things: uncertainty, waiting, learning to trust again, and the deep need to feel safe.

Recently we watched those moments unfold with Duke, Ding and Nova through PARR, and it was a reminder that care, dignity and belonging can meet in unexpected places.

Dog lovers — tell us: what did your rescue dog teach you? ❤️

💗 Enter as many times as you’d like
💗 Follow the prize sponsors on social media — let’s show them some love!

We are so incredibly grateful to our amazing prize sponsors for coming alongside us and making this possible!!

A small act of generosity can go further than we realise. And if there’s a beautiful prize waiting at the end of it? Even better. 🫶

Helping others has a way of softening hearts.
Of reminding us what really matters.
Of pulling us out of our own worries, even just for a moment.

And often, the people who come to give support leave feeling like they received something far greater in return.

Maybe that’s the beauty of kindness.
The way it changes not only the life being helped… but the life doing the helping too. ✨

Last night, the St.Anne’s STEPP programme challenged students to step out of their comfort zones and into a small glimpse of the reality many unhoused people face every night during winter.

As part of the Under the Stars Sleep Out, they gathered blankets, raised awareness, and spent part of the evening outdoors in support of the Life Boat Resource Centre and the people we serve daily.

What may have started as one evening on a sports field became something much deeper — a reminder of just how powerful compassion can be.

Every blanket donated is more than just warmth.
It’s comfort on a cold night.
It’s kindness in human form.
It’s the quiet reminder that someone still cares.

Thank you, ladies in blue for opening your hearts and standing with our community this winter. 💙
