For one week (6-13 September), our Prayer Room (The Upper Room) will become a space set apart for prayer, day and night, 24/7.

Just drive through the entry gate on Montgomery Drive, it will open for vehicles as you approach it.

As Christians around the world gather for the Global Week of Prayer, we open this space to everyone to be still, to listen, to pray, and to rest in the presence of God.

Register a time slot here to make sure you have the room booked out for yourself or a group:

Come as you are, all are welcome in this sacred space.

The sword or the towel? 🤔

It might sound like an odd choice, but in last Sunday's sermon, David used these two images to explore what it really means to follow Jesus.

In Matthew 16, Peter correctly identifies Jesus as the Messiah, but Peter misunderstands what kind of Messiah he is. Peter expects power and victory. Jesus points instead to the way of the cross: self-giving love, forgiveness and service.

So what does it look like to confess Jesus as Lord, to trust his way as the right way, and to then live it?

To balance out the fire within for the Boks game tonight, why not take some time to listen, reflect, and consider where Jesus might be inviting us to trade power for service, judgement for grace, and control for love.

(Outside of rugby, of course! 😉)

⛳ What a day!

Our All Saints Golf Day last Friday was a huge success, and we’re so grateful to everyone who helped make it such a memorable day! 🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️

A huge thank you to Lee Chalk, Wendy Warr, Di Milford and Janine Brande for all the work they put into making the day happen, from the organisation and coordination to helping with the financial arrangements. We’re so grateful for all that you each contributed behind the scenes.

Thank you to our wonderful sponsors and everyone who donated prizes, and to everyone who played, supported and joined us on the day. Your generosity made the event possible and helped make it such a success.

The funds raised will go towards our outreach programmes at All Saints, helping us continue to support and serve people in our wider community. ❤️

A special thank you to Victoria-Country Club for hosting us, and to John Robinson for capturing the day so beautifully. 📸

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part. Thank you for helping us put faith into action! 💙

With Women’s Month drawing to a close, we invite you to revisit a sermon from our Women’s Day service, preached by Revd Allan Booth.

Titled “The Wrong End of the Stick,” the sermon invites us to look again at the creation story in Genesis 2, particularly the creation of Eve as Adam’s companion and partner.

Allan offers a fresh perspective on God’s intention for relationships: companionship, dignity, partnership and mutuality. It’s a thoughtful reflection on a familiar story, and an invitation to consider whether, at times, we too have got “the wrong end of the stick.”

🎧 Listen to “The Wrong End of the Stick” as we bring Women’s Month to a close. If you missed the sermon, you can listen anytime on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most podcast platforms by searching for All Saints United Church, or by following the link below to listen on our website: https://www.allsaintschurch.co.za/sermons/episode/1c13a1bb/kingdom-living-the-wrong-end-of-the-stick-revd-allan-booth
