DAILY DEVOTION*
-------------------------
*“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7*
Excellence and professionalism are not achievable in the absence of self-discipline.
Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. This is because Without hard work and discipline it is impossible to be a top professional and become an achiever. Even to enjoy good health and to bring true happiness to your family, one must first discipline and control his or her own desires and pleasure. It said that for you to be a professional in every field of endeavour you must practice or rehearse ten thousand hours in that field. So then if practicing any skill for 10,000 hours is sufficient to make you an expert how many hours do you practice or rehearse a day? It definitely takes a high-level discipline to do this. Jesus said if anyone wants to follow me he must first deny himself, take up his cross and follow him. Again, he said, no one builds a house without first counting the cost. The apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:27... I keep my body down, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means when I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified. He disciplined himself even in the matters of the gospel. What is discipline?
Discipline is doing something that needs to be done even if you do not want to do it or feel like doing it.
It is the basic foundation of the beginning of every new goal that you want to achieve. To achieve a goal, first, you need to choose and or establish the path that you need to follow in order to achieve it, then you need to stick to that path until you succeed in achieving that goal. This is what I call discipline. You need to follow the decided path necessary to achieve your goals even if you do not want to, but you have to if you want to achieve your goal.*
*You need to repeat something over and over again until it becomes a habit.
