Good day, dear Brethren in Christ,
As we enter this new month, let us give thanks to our ever-living and loving God for the precious gift of life. He has graciously brought us into another month, another opportunity to begin anew, to grow in faith, and to embrace the blessings and challenges that lie ahead with hope and courage.
In these difficult times, as South Africa continues to experience uncertainty and tension that have interrupted our normal gatherings for prayer, praise, and worship as a community, I pray that each one of you and your families remain safe under God's loving protection.
This is also a time for us, as followers of Christ, to live out the Gospel by caring for one another. Let us take the time to reach out, check on our brothers and sisters, and offer whatever support we can. Many among us have lost their jobs and sources of income, while others have been forced to return to their homes with very little. They need not only our prayers but also our compassion, encouragement, and practical assistance wherever possible.
To our dear brothers and sisters who have lost their jobs, their source of income, or who may be feeling discouraged and hopeless, please remember that your present circumstances do not define your future, and they do not diminish your worth in the eyes of God. The Lord sees every tear, hears every prayer, and knows every burden you carry. Even when doors seem closed and tomorrow feels uncertain, God remains faithful. Hold firmly to His promises, for He is the God who provides, restores, and makes a way where there seems to be no way.
As Scripture reminds us: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18), and "For I know the plans I have for you... plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11). Do not lose hope. Continue to pray, persevere, and trust in the Lord, for He can turn seasons of hardship into testimonies of His goodness. As your family in Christ, we walk this journey with you, praying that God will open new doors of employment, provision, healing, and peace.
To our brothers and sisters who have been faithfully studying and preparing for their induction, let us remain steadfast in prayer, hopeful in faith, and patient as we await the resumption of our Zimbabwean Masses. God is never late; in His perfect time, He will make a way. May this period strengthen our faith and deepen our trust in His divine plan.
Let us also see this season of uncertainty as an invitation to reflect, to pray more earnestly, and to seek God's will for our community. Through prayer and unity, may we emerge from these challenges stronger in faith, richer in love, and more united as one family in Christ when we are once again able to gather and celebrate the Holy Mass together.
For those who are able to attend their local parish Masses, I encourage you to do so whenever it is safe and possible. Continue to nourish your faith through the Holy Eucharist, while always exercising wisdom and taking the necessary precautions to ensure your safety and the safety of others.
As Catholics, we are reminded of our Lord's words: "Love one another as I have loved you" (John 13:34). May we be instruments of God's mercy, bringing hope to the discouraged, comfort to the suffering, and strength to those who feel weary.
Let us continue to pray fervently for peace in our nation, for healing in our communities, and for God's guidance upon our leaders. May the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother, intercede for us and keep us under her mantle of protection.
May this new month be filled with God's abundant grace, good health, renewed hope, and countless blessings for you and your loved ones.
May the peace of Christ reign in your hearts always. God bless you all, and have a blessed and peaceful month ahead.
