"When God told Abraham to go and sacrifice his son, what did God say? "Sacrifice your son." And when the knife was in the air, what did God say? "Don't do it." How many times have we said the second time, "Get behind me Satan," and then continued to do what God told us the first time? (Full sermon: tinyurl.com/YTsermon6Sep26)

In this sermon, Pastor Roelof du Toit explores the metaphorical "box" of limitations that believers often construct around their faith and identity. He suggests that while boundaries provide safety, Christians must engage in a process of unlearning and relearning to align their self-perception with the boundless potential of Christ within them. By examining biblical figures like Abraham, Thomas, and the Israelite spies, Pastor du Toit highlights the internal tension between faith and doubt that often arises during spiritual growth. He argues that failures and past identities as "sinners" should not define a person’s future, as believers are now saints with access to God's power. Ultimately, the message encourages the audience to enlarge their boxes by trusting the Holy Spirit to lead them into new, dynamic territories of spiritual maturity. The source emphasizes that stepping into a larger reality of faith requires active struggle, repentance, and a personal claim of Jesus as one's Master.

Sometimes the enemy comes with a lie that is indistinguishable from truth. Unfortunately, even if something is completely false, it
can still become a real source of fear if a person believes it is true, and that person's belief and reaction to the lie can create real consequences. (Full sermon: tinyurl.com/YTsermon30Aug26)

Johan du Toit tells the story of when he was 5 years old, and broke the wind pump on their farm. He ran away, expecting to get punished severely. But when his dad finally found him, his dad simply picked him up and took him home. That day taught him something about God's love: we're afraid of God because we expect Him to punish us; instead He invites us into His presence. (Full sermon: tinyurl.com/YTsermon30Aug26)

Peter often gets judged for his brashness, but it was Peter who answered Jesus: "You are the Christ, the son of God." Jesus answered with something very profound: "On this rock I will build my church." (Matt. 16:18) (Full sermon: tinyurl.com/YTsermon30Aug26)

Through a blend of personal anecdotes and biblical teachings, Johan du Toit explores the concept of the "secret space" as a place of spiritual intimacy and protection. He contrasts the deceptive "gas" of lies spread by the enemy—which creates paralyzing fear—with the unshakable truth of God found in the secret place. Drawing on his background as an investigator, du Toit emphasizes that while people often hide their struggles, confession and faith allow believers to dwell in God's restorative presence. He uses the examples of Peter’s restoration and his own childhood experiences to illustrate that God is a gracious Father who invites everyone into a relationship defined by transparency and joy. Ultimately, the text encourages listeners to move beyond the bo***ge of secrets by seeking the spiritual safety and peace found only in Christ.

Jesus included us in His victory. In John 17 Jesus prayed the high priestly prayer, where He said, "I'm in the Father, the Father is in me and you are in me and we are in you." It's all inclusive. In Romans 6:4 we read, "We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father we too might walk in newness of life." Jesus invited us into His death and resurrection so that we can have victory. (Full sermon: https://tinyurl.com/YTsermon23Aug)

I had a dog called Johnny. When Johnny got fleas, we gave him a pill that killed all the fleas within hours. How is it that somehow we as Christians are so scared of the fleas in the world that we forget: Christ in us, the hope of glory! It is Christ in us that is the victory. The Gospel of Jesus is the all-inclusive gospel. In John 17 Jesus is praying over His disciples, and He says, "as You sent me into the world, I've sent them into the world." He includes His disciples into His mission. He continues to pray, "my prayer is not for them alone, I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message." That's you and me. We cannot claim this message for ourselves; this gospel needs to be shared. We are called into a mission. (Full sermon: https://tinyurl.com/YTsermon23Aug)
