Bernard Mizeki was an African Christian missionary and martyr who worked as a catechist in Mashonaland (now Zimbabwe) in the late 19th century, known for his dedication to evangelism among the Shona people and his martyrdom during the Mashona rebellion in 1896, which led to his veneration as a saint in the Anglican Communion.

📖 Reflections on Revelation 7:13-17 📖

This life is filled with challenges, difficulties, and persecutions.

But we have an incredible assurance! One day, we will stand face-to-face before the throne of God, serving Him in worship day and night. We will dwell in His presence, covered in His glory for ever and ever. ✨

Our souls will be completely satisfied:
🔸 We will hunger no longer.
🔸 We will thirst anymore.
🔸 Neither the sun nor any scorching heat will affect us.
🔸 God Himself will wipe all tears from our eyes and give us eternal comfort.

⚠️ An Important Truth to Remember:
These great and precious promises apply only to those who have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb. They are for those who have put their faith in the atoning sacrifice—the death of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross for our sins—and have received the free gift of salvation, turning their backs against sin, the world, and the devil.

No sinful person will make it to heaven. But the good news is that we all have the opportunity today to make things right with God.

My Reflection on Matthew 6:1-6, 16-18 📖✨

1️⃣ The Lord expects us to do charitable deeds. He also expects us to pray and fast as Christians. Notice that the Bible uses the word ‘WHEN’ instead of ‘IF’—“When you do good deeds… when you pray.” Therefore, these acts of love and spiritual disciplines are not optional for a true believer in our Lord Jesus Christ.

2️⃣ We must examine our motives when we give to the poor and needy, or when we give in our parishes. We need to make sure that our motivation is our love for the people we are giving to, and our love for God and His house. If we give to be recognized by men, to make headlines on social media, or for any other selfish reason, we will lose the blessing that God gives to those who give cheerfully from the heart.

3️⃣ Our charitable donations yield more reward when they are done anonymously.

4️⃣ When we fast and pray just to show other people how spiritual we are so we can be praised by them, we lose the reward for that great spiritual exercise.

Let us all examine our hearts to ensure that we do our good deeds from a pure heart, motivated entirely by love. ❤️

Reflections on Matthew 5:43–48 📖

In this scripture, Jesus challenges us to love others using God’s high standard, not the world's standard. Here are four simple lessons we can learn:

1️⃣ Love the people who hurt you.
The world tells us to love our friends and hate our enemies. But Jesus tells us to do the opposite. He wants us to pray for our enemies and genuinely wish the best for those who treat us badly.

2️⃣ Act like your Heavenly Father.
When we love our enemies, we show that we are truly God’s children. God is good to everyone. He lets the sun shine and the rain fall on both good people and bad people. We must show the same kind of fairness.

3️⃣ Do more than ordinary people do.
It is easy to love people who love us back. Even people who do not know God can do that. Our love must go a step further if we want to please God and receive His reward.

4️⃣ Keep growing every day.
Jesus tells us to be perfect just as our Father in heaven is perfect. This means we should keep growing in our faith and character, making sure we live like God every single day.

Let us be intentional today about showing love to everyone, even to those who are difficult to love.
