Our District recently hosted a Confirmands and Parents Meeting, bringing together confirmands, parents, and those involved in preparing our young people for this important step in their faith journey.

The meeting provided valuable guidance, encouragement, and an opportunity for meaningful discussion as families continue preparing for Confirmation. We were grateful for the support and contributions of the coordinators, the District Youth Leader, a representative from the Priest and Rector, as well as a confirmation teacher, whose insights and guidance enriched the gathering.

We thank everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the meeting, and we wish our confirmands well as they prepare for their confirmation. 🙏

On 20 May 2025, the District Apostle Stefan Pöschel from West Germany visited the Manenberg Congregation in the Duinefontein District.

The invited congregations for this blessed divine service were Downeville, Gugulethu, Manenberg, Manenberg South, Nyanga, and Sherwood Park.

The divine service was based on the word from 2 Timothy 1:14: “That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.”

In his sermon, the District Apostle placed emphasis on preserving our faith, remaining close to God through prayer and His Word, listening to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and staying faithful even during difficult times. He highlighted that the Holy Spirit helps us to live according to God’s will, resist temptation, and keep our faith steadfast at all times.

District Rector Pr. C. Barnes was called upon to serve.

The choir concluded the service with a majestic revised rendition of “Forth, Forth My Heart to Heaven.” The congregation joined in during the final verse, creating a beautiful and uplifting conclusion to the divine service.

On Sunday, 03 May 2026, the Young People’s Divine Service for Duinefortein District was conducted by District Rector Pr. D. Williams. The sermon was based on the Bible text from Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

The Bible reading, taken from Matthew 6:19–34, was presented in both English and isiXhosa.
Evangelist Z Jacobs and Pr. N Williams were called upon to serve.

Message:ďż˝
The message encouraged us to strive for a deeper fellowship with Jesus Christ while also pursuing justice in our relationships with one another.

Summary:
* Disciples of Jesus put their trust in God's faithfulness and care, and do not allow their hearts to be dominated by worries.
* Disciples of Christ make it their priority to seek the kingdom of God, that is, they pursue fellowship with Jesus and eternal life above everything else.
* Striving for justice is part of what it means to follow Christ. God practises justice, and disciples of Jesus should also stand up for justice.

After the closing prayer, the choir crowned the divine service with a powerful rendition of “We gather together” thereby concluding a most blessed time in the house of God.
