THE SAVING EFFECT OF THE SACRAMENTS.

On Sunday ,6 September 2026,Our Friendship service was conducted by our Rector Priest Ronald Bester and Priest Sinjin Skippers was called up to serve alongside the Rector.

Bible text: 1 John 5:8
And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.

MESSAGE:

We receive salvation in Christ visibly by receiving the sacraments.

SUMMARY:

■ The divine Sonship of Jesus Christ is acknowledged by God the Father.

■ The Spirit, the water, and the blood point to the saving effect of the sacraments administered in the church of Christ.

■ The sacraments are necessary for obtaining
salvation in its fulness

Funeral Announcement :

The funeral service our late brother Edward Bobbert will take place on Saturday the 29th of August 2026.
Viewing will be at 7c Rhone Walk from 7.30am to 8.30am.
Divine Service will be at Manenberg Congregation, Jordan Street at 9am and then proceed to Maitland cemetery.

Good evening brothers and sisters. It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing away of Edward Bobbert of Rhone walk, the husband of Theresa Bobbert.
We as the congregation, would like to send our heartfelt condolences to the family in their time of bereavement.

CHANGE THROUGH FORGIVENESS.

Sunday 26 July 2026:
Morning divine service

Our divine service was conducted by our District Rector Priest D. Williams, our Rector Priest R. Bester was called to serve along.

The bible text used:
Matthew 6:12
"And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."

MESSAGE:
Those who reflect on God's forgiveness discover within themselves a willingness to forgive.

SUMMARY:
- Let us pass on the forgiveness we receive from God in our daily lives.
- A negative example is the unforgiving servant who himself received forgiveness, but did not grant it to others
- It can be difficult and painful to forgive, but we can ask God to give us the strength we need to do so.

The District Rector and Rector greeted members after the divine service.
