CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION – SUNDAY

Dear Parishioners,

This Sunday, immediately after Holy Communion, we will take part in our annual Corpus Christi Procession.

The Feast of Corpus Christi celebrates the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist. As Catholics, we believe that Jesus is truly present—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity—under the appearance of bread and wine. During this procession, we publicly witness to our faith and proclaim Christ's presence in our community.

The tradition of the Corpus Christi Procession dates back many centuries and serves as a beautiful expression of our love and devotion to Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. By walking together behind Jesus in the Eucharist, we acknowledge Him as Lord of our lives and invite His blessing upon our neighbourhood and all who live within it.

Procession Route:
From the church, we will proceed past the Anglican Church, turn immediately right, then left into Marico Street, continue onto Vygekraal Road, and return down Anglican Church Road before making our way back to the church.

Procession Etiquette:

- Please maintain a spirit of prayer and reverence throughout the procession.
- Refrain from unnecessary talking.
- Keep your focus on Jesus present in the Blessed Sacrament.
- Respect the sacred nature of this public act of worship.
- Please wear comfortable shoes.

All Catechism children are requested to walk together with their teachers.

We look forward to seeing our parish family united in this beautiful public profession of faith. Let us come together with joyful and prayerful hearts as we accompany Our Lord through our streets.

Dear Father Bernard and our beloved parish family,

On behalf of the Parish Pastoral Council, I extend my deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to you, Father Bernard, and to every individual who so generously gave of their time, talents, and love in making this Lenten season, Holy Week, and Easter truly meaningful and memorable for all who participated.

From the solemn beauty of our liturgies to the quiet acts of service behind the scenes, each contribution reflected a spirit of unity, sacrifice, and devotion. It is through your commitment and faith that our parish community was able to journey so prayerfully through this sacred time, drawing ever closer to Christ and to one another.
