THE HOPE OF HEAVEN (3)

“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.””
‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

As I mentioned in yesterday’s devotional, Jesus is the real reason that heaven is actually heaven. Therefore expressed like this- No Jesus, really, no heaven.

However, having said that, because Jesus is there, heaven is also a place that He has invited us to come to, when our life on earth here is complete. Now, just to make it clear, the ONLY way to heaven is through Jesus Christ, and being born again.

In other words, good people don’t go to heaven, but those who have received the free gift of salvation, do. And a reminder; to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord as a born again believer, in heaven- 2 Corinthians 5:8.

Heaven is a remarkable place, FULL of love, peace, joy, faith, hope, health, life, laughter, celebration, comfort, family, unity, harmony and the list just goes on and on.

Yes there are streets of pure gold (and no potholes), and yes there is pure and perfect light there (and definitely no load shedding) and yes there are all kinds of precious stones there (with no stealing). Yes, it is an out of this world place as I’ve said before, and I personally cannot wait to get there. (I’m not trying to escape, but it sure would be nice if Jesus came to fetch us to go there, now.)

In our opening scripture heaven is revealed as a place that is far, far, far beyond anything we have ever seen, heard or even imagined. No matter how magnificent or beautiful or even glorious we may have witnessed things on this earth, what is coming, and what is prepared for us, is far, far, far greater.

We need to live with this anticipated perspective that soon and very soon we are going to be with our Lord Jesus in that wonderful place called heaven.

This has to stir great hope within us, and so no matter what we might be experiencing at this time, good or bad, the BEST IS YET TO COME.

Colossians 3:2 tells us to set our minds and our affections on things above and not on the things of this earth. That is a good doing word for us. Let’s just do it.✔️✔️✔️✔️

THE HOPE OF HEAVEN (2)

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”- John‬ ‭14‬:‭3‬ ‭

What makes heaven, really heaven?

Many would say things like: there is no pain or suffering there, or there is no fear or anxiety there, or there is no sin, wrong, gossip, slander etc etc there, and that is why it is heaven. Some would even say that there are no worries or stress, disease or sickness and therefore it is heaven. Others would say that there are mansions and streets of gold, gates of jasper, there is pure love and peace, joy, hope, etc etc etc.-All and absolutely true.

There are so many qualities that are seriously out of this world (pun intended) and that are so beautiful and magnificent, and are seriously what heaven is all about, but the one thing that we have get a revelation of is this:

Heaven is really heavenly because of the person and the presence of the One Who made it all, including heaven itself. Heaven is exactly that because of Jesus. Without Him there actually is no heaven, literally and figuratively.

The truth is that heaven is all that it is because of Jesus. Without Him, His presence, His leadership and rulership, His ways, His values, etc etc heaven WOULD NOT be heaven.

Today, and everyday, you and I can actually enjoy heaven even now on earth, and that is what we are told to even pray in Mathew 6:9-.

When we truly understand that heaven is all that it is because of one person, Jesus Christ, we can even experience heaven and the will of the Father, now on earth.

Take the time to worship the One from whom your hope comes from. After all, when we worship and spend time with Jesus, not just in the morning, but through the day, we can absolutely experience the true Hope of heaven.

Yes, heaven is a place, but more importantly it’s a place where Jesus is, and He is in you and with you even now. Now that’s absolutely heavenly. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

THE HOPE OF HEAVEN

“because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“He is so heavenly minded that he is of no earthly good.”

Have you ever heard that saying before? It references someone who really is of no value to their surroundings, or people around them. It has often been used as a negative statement about someone.

I used to think that it made sense, but now I believe we are to be soooo heavenly minded. So heavenly minded that we live, think, say and do, as a citizen of heaven would do. After all, that is who we really are as believers, citizens of heaven
(Phill 3:20)

When we live with that mindset we really are living just like Jesus, and then we really are a blessing to this earth and those around us.

Think of it like this: Jesus was so conscious of where He came from, so conscious of the Spirit, the Word and the Ways of heaven that He instructed us to live like that.

He said for us to seek first the Kingdom of God - Mathew 6:33. He said for us to set our minds on things above and not on the things of the earth- Col 3:2. He said for us to live and love, as He loves us- John 15:12 etc etc

Why am I saying all of this?

Heaven is seriously “out of this world”, and when we think of what God has in store for us, our hope (our expectation of what God has promised will surely come to pass) goes to new levels.

Jesus said that we are to pray that the will of the Father be done on earth AS it is in heaven.- Matt 6:10.

Over the next few days let’s look at the realm of heaven so that we can have great hope, even in the midst of challenges and troubles.

REMEBER:

“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”-I Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬ ‭

Pray with heart:

“Heavenly Father, thankYou for Your guidance and help as I see heaven from Your perspective, and thank You for the glorious hope that is awakened in and thorough me as a result of that, in Jesus name. Amen.”🙏🙏

HOPE FOR YOU…TH

Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”- Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

This is good news for ANYONE reading this, whether it be for you, or even for your children.

Today is considered Youth Day in South Africa and therefor we can all celebrate this day, and even every day.

Being young is exciting. Being young is energetic. Being young is hopeful, but too many people give up and lose their youthfulness as they grow old. I do not believe we have to do so, and please, I’m not talking about childishness.

We all need to mature in the things of God, but that does not mean growing old. Just look at Moses at 120 it says: his eyes were not dim, and neither was his natural vigour diminished - Deut 34:7.
Caleb at 80 demanded that he “get” his piece of land promised to him. His response was, “as I was at 40, so my strength is now- Joshua 14:11.

The truth is that God’s Word is greater than anything that we are facing and He has given us His promises to hope in, take hold of, believe, speak in accordance with and receive.

God’s promises are for everyone who would believe, including for our children and so please understand, that even for our children, there is a great future and a hope.

No matter what is going on in this world or even in our nation South Africa, I believe that our children do not have to go to another country to find hope. Their hope is in what God says, and so even take hold of that for your youth, your children.

Dare to believe. Dare to receive, and dare to speak what God says.

That is the hope that He came to give us. (See Hebrews 10:23)

Frame your world:

“My youth is renewed like the eagles. My eyes are not dim, but they are full of light and my natural vigour is not diminished in any fashion or any form.
Even my children have a great future and a great hope, in Jesus name. Amen.”
