D.C. Final Day:

Today, our group from Grace participated in worship at National Community Church located in the Capital Turn Around building near the Capital in Washington, D.C. It was a great day to visit because it was Baptism Sunday. We arrived early and explored the building and Addy and Ellie checked into their ministry for children.

All of us were inspired by the church’s focus on prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit…and their commitment to make an impact in the lives of children and families…and their desire to reach the generations. We could feel God’s presence and the genuine faith and passion of the worship team, Pastor Mark Batterson, and the people. ❤️🙌🏻

D.C. Day 1:
We visited DC Dream Center today.
“DC Dream Center is where the needs of people in the city of DC, especially youth, are met. From mentoring and tutoring to personal development and legal assistance, the DC Dream Center encompasses a spectrum of programs from low-barrier after-school activities and tutoring, to programs that offer deeper engagement such as one-on-one mentoring. They are dedicated to serving the needs of the community through a holistic approach. One person at a time, the DC Dream Center inspires youth and adults to dare to dream, equipping them to live life, and live it to the full.”

Our group from Zanesville participated in their Second Saturday Serve today. We traveled to a nearby housing community and spent time interacting and sharing God’s love and pizza.

Later today we went into the city and saw a few national sites. It was the first time Brian and his girls have experienced D.C. It was a brief visit, but a good day!

Tomorrow, we will visit National Community Church and Ebenezer Coffee House.
