The Zanesville Memorial Concert Band presented their initial concert of the season at Zane's Landing Park. The first concert each year features high school honors band members from area high schools as guest performers. Our family hit the trifecta tonight. My son Kyle and oldest daughter Hannah are regular members of the Memorial Band and his younger daughter Piper was chosen to be in the honors band.

We have 2 special services this evening, collectively called the Maundy Thursday Experience. At 5 p.m. we will have a potluck dinner and celebrate Communion in Fellowship Hall downstairs in remembrance of Jesus’s Last Supper with His disciples. This is followed by a 6:30 p.m. service in the sanctuary as we reflect on Jesus’s crucifixion. This service will include the opportunity to write down a lament you have, and nail it to the large wooden cross.

All are welcome to both services. It is okay if you are only available to attend one of them.

Thank you to all who took the opportunity to pray, play, journal & create with us this Lenten Season during our Mindful Moments. We hope it was an inspiring experience and you will return again next year and bring others that you know would enjoy this intentional time to meditate on God’s love for us. This year we had between 15-19 different prayer stations each week, as well as 7 additional Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood themed ones made available the two weeks nearest March 20th (Mr. Rogers Day).

Please feel free to share our post to help make others aware of this opportunity that will be available with new activities and prayer prompts, as well as returning favorites, during the next Lenten season in 2027.

Here are a few photos before things are taken down for our Holy Week services.
