Dear Lord,
As our students begin a new school year,
I pray that you will keep them in your care.
Send your Spirit to open their minds
to all that is true and beautiful and good
Help them to see the gifts and talents
you have given them and to use them well.
Help them to grow in knowledge and wisdom.
Help them to be kind to others
and lead others to be kind to them.
Give their teachers patience and understanding
and help them teach what is just and true.
Send your angels to guide and guard our
children and to keep them from all harm.
Open their young hearts to your presence
and enfold them in your peace and protection.
Hold them in the palm of your hand
and bring them home safely at day’s end.
Amen.

Today, the WSCC joins Bishop Thomas Daly, the Catholic Diocese of Spokane, and communities across Eastern Washington in prayer for all those affected by the devastating fires.

We pray for families grieving what has been lost, for those displaced from their homes, and for everyone carrying fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty. We also ask God to protect and strengthen the firefighters, first responders, medical professionals, clergy, volunteers, and neighbors responding with courage and compassion.

The Church is called to stand with those who suffer, to pray without ceasing, and to remind one another that even amid ashes and heartbreak, Christ has not abandoned His people.

Please join Catholics across Washington in praying for the people of Spokane, and share this prayer so they may know they are not alone.

Those able to provide material support can donate to Catholic Charities Eastern Washington’s Spokane Complex Fire Support effort:

As the public policy voice of Washington’s Catholic bishops, the WSCC works to advance Life, Justice, Peace, human dignity, and the common good—including standing in solidarity with our neighbors in times of profound suffering.

Day 1 of INSPIRE 2026 was a success! Filled with inspiring speakers, meaningful conversations, and practical ideas that will help us continue to strengthen our mission and serve our school community with purpose.

We're grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside Catholic school and parish leaders who share a passion for faith-filled education. We can't wait to bring these insights back to our students, families, and staff as we continue to grow together.

Looking forward to all that Day 2 has in store!

A heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful vendors and volunteers who have helped make this Saturday's Craft Fair possible. Your support of our parish and our Children and Youth Faith Formation programs is a true blessing.

We invite everyone to come out this Saturday from 8am to 3pm to browse the many unique handcrafted items, enjoy the fellowship of our parish community, and support the talented local vendors who have chosen to be part of this event. Your attendance helps make this fundraiser a success, as vendor booth rentals directly benefit our Children and Youth Faith Formation programs.

We can't wait to see you there!

As we begin our journey to the Steubenville Northwest Conference in Spokane, we are filled with gratitude.

Thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, donated, and prayed for our high school youth group. Your generosity and kindness have made this experience possible.

Please keep our teens, our incredible leaders, our dedicated chaperones, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to organize this trip in your prayers. Pray that this weekend will be filled with open hearts, meaningful encounters with Christ, lasting friendships, safe travels, and the grace to hear God's call more clearly.

We can't wait to see all that God has in store for this weekend. Thank you for being part of this journey with us!
