📢 CHURCH OFFICE CLOSURE NOTICE

The Mt. Zion Baptist Church office will be closed on Monday, September 7, and Tuesday, September 8, in observance of Labor Day and while our parking lot is being resurfaced and painted.

For everyone’s safety, we ask that members and leaders do not come onto the church grounds during this time.

The church office will reopen on Wednesday, September 9, at 9:00 a.m.

We will join First Baptist Church, Kennedy Heights, for its 112th Church Anniversary. Pastor Christopher R. Graham, Sr. will be the guest speaker. Sunday School will be held at Mt. Zion at 9:30 a.m. There will be no 10:45 a.m. worship service at MZBC.

Mt. Zion Baptist Church – Woodlawn invites you to join us as we celebrate our 99th Annual Women’s Season under the theme:

“Strong Women Accomplishing God’s Work”

🙌🏾 WHAT A YOUTH SUNDAY! 🙌🏾

Today at Mt. Zion, our young people didn’t just attend church—they helped lead the church! ❤️
From prayer and Scripture to singing, announcements, offering, worship, and fellowship, our children and youth stepped forward and used their gifts for the glory of God. We are incredibly proud of each of them and grateful for every parent, volunteer, ministry leader, and church member who encouraged and supported them.

Today was also a reminder that the youth are not simply the church of tomorrow—they are an important part of the church TODAY!
Our message came from Hebrews 10:24–25: “Strengthened by Encouragement.” When generations encourage one another, everybody grows. And judging by the smiles, selfies, laughter, worship, and fellowship today, there was plenty of encouragement in the house! 🙌🏾

Mt. Zion, let’s keep pouring into our children and youth. Let’s give them opportunities to lead, room to grow, grace when they’re learning, and encouragement every step of the way.

We are growing together! 🌱

Mt. Zion, we are making progress in our 157th Anniversary Fund Drive!

We have raised $2,507 and are now LESS THAN $500 AWAY from reaching our first $3,000 milestone! 🙌🏾

In celebration of 157 years, we are asking each member who is able to give $157 — one dollar for every year God has sustained Mt. Zion.

WHAT A DAY AT MT. ZION! 🙌🏾💙

What an awesome time we had today at our Mt. Zion Church Outing!

We started the day with wonderful praise and worship led by Sis. Perez, great singing from our Allegro Choir, and the Word of God from Acts 2:42–47 — “Growing Through Fellowship.”

And then we did exactly what we preached about — WE FELLOWSHIPPED! 🙌🏾

There was great food, plenty of laughter, games, conversation, and just a beautiful time of being together as a church family. And yes… Pastor endured TWO pies in the face! 😂🥧🥧 I’m still recovering!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to every committee member, ministry leader, volunteer, and church member who worked behind the scenes and helped make today such a tremendous success. Your service, sacrifice, and love for Mt. Zion do not go unnoticed.

Today reminded us of the message we heard this morning:

Growth requires PRESENCE.
Growth requires PARTICIPATION.
And when WE grow together, THE CHURCH grows!

I am thankful for our leadership.
I am thankful for our membership.
And most of all, I am thankful for what GOD is doing at Mt. Zion!

We’re growing.
We’re fellowshipping.
We’re serving.
And we’re moving forward together!

Mt. Zion is going up the King’s Highway! 🙌🏾

To God be the glory for a GREAT DAY!

They WON the Bible Trivia… and the Pastor PAID THE PRICE! 😂🥧😂

I told them if they could answer the Bible questions correctly, they could PIE THE PASTOR — and Mt. Zion came READY! 📖🙌🏾

After preaching “Growing Through Fellowship” from Acts 2:42–47, I guess the Lord decided I needed to demonstrate just how committed I was to fellowship! 😂

And they didn’t just get me once… I TOOK TWO PIES TO THE FACE! 🥧🥧🤣

But this is what church family looks like: worshiping together, learning together, laughing together, eating together, and GROWING together.

I love my Mt. Zion family! We had an AWESOME Church Outing, and yes… Pastor was a good sport! 😂❤️
