One of my joys as the pastor of St. Simon’s is the welcoming spirit of this community. In my twenty-five years as a pastor, I have never been a part of a community with such extraordinary hospitality. Visitors, strangers, and guests tell me again and again how gracious and warm their experience is with us. First as a supply preacher, and then pastor, I have received that same generous welcome.
At our Homecoming celebration this Sunday, October 16th at 10am, we look forward to welcoming ‘home’ all who’ve been touched by St. Simon’s in some way. It is our hope that whether you grew up here, join us in worship, attended St. Simon’s school, were married here, have parents who worshipped here, live in our neighborhood, enjoy our Fish Fry, come to Jazz on the Lawn, or have friends who worship here, you will join us for this celebration. The Gospel Choir will lead us in some good singing, and after worship we will feast on some good eating. We hope you will join us.
Please forward this to any friends and neighbors you know who would enjoy joining us for this celebration.
