Psalm 128:2 states: "You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours" (NIV). [1]

Translations

King James Version (KJV): "For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee."

English Standard Version (ESV): "You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you."

1 Corinthians 15:58

*Labor Not in Vain: Every effort made in serving God and loving others has lasting value and is noticed by Him.

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
My God is my rock on whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” ~ Psalm 18:12

In this world we will have trials. It is a fact of life and as believers, we are not immune. Even Jesus told us this in John 16:33.
In that same verse He told us however, that in Him, those troubles would be overcome and we would have peace. Everyone has troubles Christians and non-believers alike. The major difference is that non Christians have nowhere to turn in those difficult times. As believers however, we have the peace that we find in our trust in God. That is the essence of today’s verse. When troubles come we have Christ Jesus and His father, God almighty, the solid rock of our salvation whose is now and has been since the beginning of time, immovable! They, along with the Holy Spirit, are always with us and for us, to give us peace, comfort and joy and see us through those trying times. The Bible promises us this in Isaiah 28:16. So, when troubles come and they will, be ready. Put your trust in God, the solid rock and cling to Him. He will see you through.
