“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven… And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you.’” — Matthew 7:21, 23
Those are sobering words from Jesus.
This Sunday, Pastor Kenny asked a question worth carrying with us:
“The real question is… DOES HE KNOW YOU?”
Jesus wasn’t saying that He didn’t know who these people were. God knows every person. When Jesus said, “I never knew you,” He was speaking about something much deeper—a genuine relationship with Him and belonging to Him.
The people Jesus described knew His name. They called Him Lord. They spoke about the things they had done in His name. Yet Jesus’ response was not about their religious activity or accomplishments. His response was about relationship: “I never knew you.”
It’s possible to know about Jesus without truly knowing Him. It’s possible to attend church, know the language of faith, and do good things—and still miss the most important thing: a surrendered relationship with Jesus Christ.
So don't let this simply be a Scripture you read or a quote you scroll past.
Ask yourself the question:
DOES HE KNOW ME?
Not, “Do I go to church?”
Not, “Do I know about Jesus?”
Not, “Have I done good things?”
But am I His? Have I placed my faith in Jesus? Do I truly know Him and belong to Him?
It's a question worth answering—not someday, but today.
