Proverb of the Day

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

Thought for Today:
Life doesn't always make sense. There are moments when the path ahead seems uncertain, and our own understanding falls short. But God never asks us to have all the answers—He asks us to trust Him. When we place our confidence in Him rather than our circumstances, He faithfully guides our steps and leads us exactly where we need to be.

Prayer:
Lord, help me trust You today, even when I cannot see the whole picture. Direct my steps and give me confidence in Your perfect plan. Amen.

"What was in you from the very beginning is still in you. And that potential remains, regardless of whatever's happened to you, it remains."

Life has a way of leaving marks. Disappointments, failures, mistakes, setbacks, and even the opinions of others can make us question who we are and what God can do through us.

But here's the truth: what God placed in you has not been canceled by what happened to you.

The gifts, purpose, calling, and potential He designed for your life are still there. The key is making sure your life is built on the right foundation. When Jesus is our foundation, everything else finds its proper place.

Your past doesn't define you.
Your failures don't disqualify you.
Your setbacks don't diminish God's purpose.

Build on Christ. Walk in love. Trust His plan.

The potential He placed in you is still there.

Agape love differs from all other types of love because it's based on action and decision, not feelings or emotions. Unlike family love, friendship love, or romantic love, agape love operates through 15 specific actions outlined in 1 Corinthians 13. This love suffers long, shows kindness, bears all things, and endures all things while refusing to envy, seek its own way, or hold grudges. God designed agape love specifically to cover sin and prevent relationships from being destroyed by friction. The key to practicing agape love is making a decision to forgive unpayable debts rather than waiting to feel emotionally ready.

The church at Corinth possessed incredible spiritual gifts but lacked the essential ingredient for effectiveness: love. Paul taught them about being a body rather than just a community, where every member is connected by life and purpose. When spiritual gifts operate without love, they become meaningless noise that profits nothing. Human love - whether family bonds, friendship, or emotional attraction - could never save us because we were enemies of God. Only agape love, God's extreme and otherworldly love, could reach us while we were still sinners. This same love must characterize how believers relate to one another, making the church recognizable to the world as Christ's disciples.
