“Work is a good thing for man—a good thing for his humanity—because through work man not only transforms nature, but he also achieves fulfillment as a human being.”
— St. John Paul II, Laborem Exercens

On this Labor Day, we give thanks for the dignity of work, the gift of rest, and the opportunity to use our time and talents for God’s glory.

Whether it’s your job, your studies, or your quiet acts of service - your work matters. In Christ, even the smallest task becomes holy when done with love.

Take time today to rest well, pray deeply, and remember the One who labored for our salvation.

St. Augustine didn’t start out as a saint - far from it. He spent years chasing success, pleasure, and worldly ideas. But in the end, he discovered that nothing satisfied his soul except God.

Today, we honor a man who became a bishop, theologian, and Doctor of the Church, whose conversion still inspires hearts today.

Let his story remind us: it’s never too late to turn toward Christ.
Your past doesn’t define you - your “yes” to God does.

“Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” - St. Francis of Assisi

Now that the semester is rolling, it’s a good time to pause, breathe, and remember your foundation.

God is already at work in your routine, your friendships, and your studies. Stay grounded. Stay close to Him.

This week, Pope Leo XIV, speaking to a group of altar servers about the Mass, said this:

"From the first day of her existence, and then for centuries, the Church has celebrated Mass, from Sunday to Sunday, in memory of what the Lord did for her. In the hands of the priest and at his words: ‘This is my Body, this is my Blood,’ Jesus still gives his life on the altar. He still sheds his blood for us today.

The celebration of the Mass saves us today! It saves the world today! It is the most important event in the life of the Christian and in the life of the Church, because it is the meeting where God gives himself to us out of love, again and again. The Christian does not go to Mass out of duty, but because he needs it – absolutely – we need the life of God who gives himself without awaiting return!"

Join us for Mass in the Aquinas Center chapel this Sunday and each Sunday evening at 8:00 pm. We need it!
