God is giving us a wakeup call! A person’s only hope is found in the Lord. The Lord has done everything necessary for each human to find Him and His salvation in Jesus Christ, His Son. The Lord God has gone to great expense to deliver us from our bo***ge of sin which is required to be with Him forever. He paid the highest price to cover and eradicate human sin, satisfying His own wrath against our sin (see Deuteronomy 28).
It is not a minor infraction but a very major one. Sin is an affront and a true abomination against God, our Maker, Sustainer, and final Judge! I have been reading through the prophets and the Law as well as much of the writings of the Old Testament. Well over half, maybe three fourths of this Scripture is the message of judgment. It is not just to Israel and Judah, but it does include them. God does not turn a blind eye to the least sin because it demanded the death of His Son to redeem us from our sin.
I am now reading the prophet Amos. It is a wakeup call to all humans. Let us awake and return to God and His Son with all our very beings. The Apostle Paul said in Romans 13 it is time to wakeup from our sleep and to be alert, watch, and pray for Christ’s coming is so near. Jesus warned His disciples to be alert, to watch and pray. Why do we wait until we get between a rock and a hard place to cry out to Him. It just may be too late then, but now is the accepted time, the day of our salvation (2 Corinthians 6:1-2). Harden not your hearts as the Israelites did? Jesus said, “Come unto to me, for my burden is light. I will give you rest to your souls.” (see Matthew 11:28-30).
Jesus is coming soon! REST in His safe, secure, serene, sufficient, strong, significant, satisfying, sanctifying arms. Nike! Hyper/Victors! Romans 8:37. Overcomers! More than conquerors!
