National Catholic Partnership on Disability - NCPD The National Catholic Partnership on Disability (NCPD) was established in 1982 to foster implementation of the Pastoral Statement of U.S.

Following the example of Jesus, the National Catholic Partnership on Disability works with dioceses, parishes, ministers, and the laity to advance the full and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in the life of the Church and society. It states that these persons must be able to participate in the celebrations and obligations of their faith, and advocates for their inclusion "within the total fabric of society." NCPD likewise promotes implementation of the Guidelines for the Celebration of the Sacraments with Persons with Disabilities, approved by the U.S. bishops in June 1995 to provide pastoral guidance on sacramental access for people with disabilities.

NCPD has been honored to provide the Large-Print Roman Missal to support priests and deacons with low vision in celebrating the liturgy.

We have transferred this important ministry to Xavier Society for the Blind, a longstanding leader in providing free braille, audio, and large-print Catholic materials for persons with visual impairments.
